Green discoloration on black seat
Hello everyone,
I bought my first used car - after having my last 2002 ES300 for 258K miles, I bought a 2015 ES300h hoping it'll be just as faithful/reliable. I love it! But there's a spot on the passenger seat that I can't identify and want to fix. I didn't even notice it til the next day as the salesman was sitting on it during the test drive 🙄 The seats are perfed black "NuLuxe" and I thought that was leather, but apparently not. I think the previous owner must have spilled something and either caused this greenish discoloration directly from the spill, or tried to clean it. I'm not sure if it is a stain or if it's that the black dye was partially removed in that area. It may actually look more prominent now because this morning I tried to use a leather wipe on it, but now the seat looks streaky and I can't tell if this spot became brighter, or if it's my imagination.
Has anyone seen something similar or have any clues? And what the heck is NuLuxe anyway - pleather?
Thank you so much!
The rest of the streakiness is after using leather wipe 😬
I bought this car at a Toyota dealer btw.

Looks like it could either be some kind of mold patch, or the previous owner scrubbed away on the spot with a harsh chemical, removing the leather dye completely. If you just bought the car, I would go back to the dealership and point it out, maybe their detail department can help out a bit. You could go through the process of re-dying the seats as well, but best to start with the other options. Definitely wait for the pros to chime in here, because I'm just guessing. Good luck.

Looks like something ate through the leather or the finish was scrubbed away, does not look like it is sitting on top. I would take it back to the dealership and tell them to fix it, be stern and persistent if they refuse.
