Default Best solution for dull paint

I have a 2009 IS350 and went a head and clay bared the entire car. I then used my orbital buffer with a medium-ish course terry cloth polishing pad and Meguiars Ultimate Compound color and clarity wax. After I was done, the surface was shiny but I could still see a cloudy dullness on the hood and trunk. Do I need a better or more abrasive pad? Different wax? Is it better and easier to just go with a paint coating? What's my best option here?

That paint is trashed what happened? I'm not sure if the clear coat is damaged or not, what orbital are you using?

I have a Porter Cable 3.4 amp 7424, usually run it at about 5 or 6 when applying the compound.
