Default Used goof off to take adhesive off plastic bra... did I damage my paint?

Hi everyone, I just got my IS350 not too long ago and I removed the plastic bra because it was black all around and stuck out like a sore thumb. After using good off to remove the adhesive I noticed this white line that seems dull. Did I damage my paint? And how would I fix this?

This depends on who you ask, and it's a debate topic on other forums.

I would pretest a small, inconspicuous place 1st.The Tolulene and Xylenecan are somewhat harsh, but I've removed paint from another car that scraped mine using acetone/nail polish remover, and then washed it with soap and water, then just buffed it out by hand with a rubbing compound, Finally finished it with Collinite 845, Mothers, Zaino or any decent wax or sealant.

Default Took off the plastic bra.. did I damage my paint?

Hi everyone, I just got my is350 and I decided to take the plastic bra off today. It was black all around and stuck out like a sore thumb. The adhesive cane off fine but when I cleaned off all the dirt and black stuff, it left behind this dull white line. Did I damage my paint? If so, what can I do to fix this?

Do some light paint correction and see what happens. Goof off does not damage paint in my experience, it does not remove the glue left behind from clear wrap very well either.

^^^Lexus2000 is right.

You can use a mild compound, such as Turtle Wax or Mother's Rubbing Compound and rub out any discoloration using a sponge.. I had discoloration on a older INFINITI G35 and used a rubbing compound, removed the discoloration and any swirl marks in the area within 30 seconds. Once you've rubbed out the discoloration, use a good wax or sealant, such as Collinite 845 or Wolfgangs. Here's a quick video:
