Default How do you remove Rubbing Compound Scratches??

I just purchased an SC300. There are at least a dozen difft. places where rubbing compound was applied to remove tree sapp. There are swirl marks everywhere.

How can these be removed? I tried waxing and no luck.
THANX..

Removing these microscratches requires stepping down a level to another abrasive. If the scratches were made with 3M Perfect-it II Rubbing Compound, then the next step may be 3M Perfect-it III Machine Glaze (Not a glaze, it's a polish that leaves a glazed surface).

The key is to understand the cutting/polishing action of the product used, and the proper technique in applying it. We can safely say that the person who compounded your SC did not understand these important issues.

The quickest, most effective way to solve your problem would be a machine application of the proper polish to eliminate these swirls. This should be done by someone who knows what they're doing, as a direct-drive, or rotary polisher can leave even more marks on the car. As soon as the problem is corrected, apply a wax or sealant to protect your paint.

You could address this problem by hand, but it will require a mighty effort on your part.
Long hard work with the proper technique and chemicals. You will be one hurtin' puppy when you're done.
