Default Anyone tried 5 Star Shine

Hey dudes,

Just about to buy and have applied to my new RX330 (mica metalic blue) 5 Star Shine. Here is some of the blurb from the web site. Any info would be appreciated.

5 Star Shine Gives UnBeatable Shine And Protection That Lasts For Years!

5 STAR SHINE is not a car wax. In fact, it contains no waxes of any kind. Our patented PPS formula protects your paint with PTFE (the same substance that makes nonstick cookware so slippery) for unbeatable shine and protection guaranteed to last for years!

The Only Paint Protection System Awarded A Patent By the U.S. Government!

Sounds interesting - let us know what you think of it after it's been applied.

Default Did some reseach on your 5 star and here is what I found

Looks like the 5 star is not a bad idea, although expensive and time consuming. I found out that the is another similar product that uses teflon and silicone and so far looks like only JC whitney sells it, here is the site:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/item.jhtml?...8&FID=27&BQ=sv

I think I might try it, since owning a SUV for the first time, it is EXTREMELY time consuming and painstaking to wash, and wax an buff a suv ccompared to a small car. The Teflon/Silocone seems like it would be thee best of ALL worlds, nothing sticks to it, not dust, oxxidation, soot, acid, even fire from what the web site mentions and lasts 5 years? WOW

Tell me what youu guys think

Sheesh, would beat waxing and polishing even twice a year.

Hey dudes,

You need to be careful with any silicone based single componet products. The issue is the the silicon penetrates the paint and this means that it can not be removed. This can cause major issues should you have an smash.
