White marks on black leather seat and arm rest
Anyone know what these white marks on the seat (near where the knees rest) and on the arm rest on the door are and how to treat it? I tried wiping with a wet cloth but the white marks come back after it dries. Not even sure if this is real leather or synthetic so unsure how to Google for a solution. Any help appreciated!

Looks like your passenger had been using some sunscreen.
The perforated part of the seats are leather, the rest (especially the door) are synthetic. If the sunscreen was not water soluble and didn't come off with water, you may need to use some mild soap in lukewarm water to get the sunscreen off.

/QUOTE]Sunscreen or even moisturizer. Clean with a good leather cleaner. Get at Walmart/target a Kiwi or and brand of soft bristle brush. Clean with the solution using the brush is a circular motion agitating the leather. You do not need to use any pressure. If it does not go away use a leather conditioner. if that does not do the trick you will need to re-dye it. Good news is black is easy to match. I had this problem on a previous SC430. Linked is a dye I used with great results.

Not to hijack the thread but is there any coating that can be put on to protect from this happening. My detailer suggested some coating, I passed but I can see that the leather will discolor a bit like in this thread. I live at the beach as well, bound to happen I think.
