Hello, I live on a dusty road, my 2015 GS 350 F Sport (@60k on ODO) has a dirty engine bay. The dealer stated 60$ to clean it and it may take an hour to do this...
Does anyone have any experience in this?? Is it a steam clean??
I dont want to take it to the local car wash and pressure wash the engine bay LOL
thanks !

First I'll admit I haven't cleaned my engine yet since purchasing my Lexus used since it's not too bad. But in the last thirty years I have pressure washed engines on motorcycles, ATVs, pickups, and cars hundreds of times. I have never had a problem with water affecting anything. Water get all over the engine when driving through rain all the time.
Now I don't concentrate spray really hard for long on some of the electrical boxes or on (motorcycle) dash gauges, but they don't get that dirty anyway. Then I wipe the easy to get to spots with a dry rag. If time, I leave the hood open for several hours to dry, but that's since the fan spinning throws water all around.
Of course, YMMV, but I'm just not into using a toothbrush and ear swabs for cleaning and engine. Does not include time spent on a Jeep for show.
