Old leather restoration
I got a 1991 LS400 and I replace my leather in the front seats but my backs seat are somewhat good condition, no tears, however there are a few scratches..
Now I know there are plenty of threads out there but I dont know which one will answer my question.
I treat my leather with meguries conditioner/cleaner once every 4 weeks. But is there anything out there that can restore the leather in the back so I dont have to worry about tears?
-Thanks, Peter

Peter,
I'm in the same situation as you. Sun has hardened parts of my rear bench, and I've tried many brands: Lexol, Meguiars, Mother's, Connolly Hide Food, and 3M. Finally, after reading good reviews of a product called Leatherique, I spent the money and went for it. I've been using the product for the last couple of days, and it seems to be slowly working.
The downside to the Leatherique--it's not cheap ($50 for kit containing 32oz conditioner, 32oz cleaner plus $20 shipping). But it seems to be the choice hands down for restoring older leather, and it's easy to work with.
Check out the thread down the page called something like "Fast Orange & Leatherique Experience (Pics). Another user started it, and I've continued it. Because I have black leather, I didn't use the Fast Orange prior to the Leatherique to remove dirt the way the other member describes.
