Default Is this tree sap, bug splatter, or tar?

Some of this stuff got all over my paint after driving on the highway a few days ago. I have no idea what it is but it's stuck to the pain like glue. I washed it with CarPro Reset but it won't come out unless I vigorously scratch it with my nail and there are too many of these spots to go that route anyway. Plus I don't want to scratch the surface with my nails. What is the best way to get rid of these? I ordered some CapPro Bug-out hoping it will take care of it. Any other suggestions?

Tar generally is going to be lower on the vehicle, and tree sap higher. I'd try some orange cleaner like citrol or some generic brand, but be a bit cautious as it's strong enough to weaken ceramic coats.

Maybe you should try to clay bar the area.

IPA dissolves pitch and tar but will weaken the ceramic coating at least somewhat.

I hear you but,to be honest, you really don't have much of a choice IMO.

You can safely clay a ceramic coating.

You'd be fine claying the car even with ceramic.

And I think some of that is sap it looks like, either way, turtle tar/remover works good
