Default Meguire's testamonial. 12 years under a tree.

I bought an old beater a few months back and have been driving it around every now and then working all the little bugs out of it. One of the things that bothered me was the fact that the paint set for 12 years untouched. I broke out the meguires and here's what happened.

After

My old setup which always made my stuff better than new looking.

Mother Clay bar (if necessary, it spands meguiars which seems to be too sticky)
1 Coat of Meguiars wax
1 Astroshield polish
3 coats of Meguiars Yellow 26 professional paste Wax

Hey Brian, how many cars do you actually have?

Most pics you post always have other cars in the background.

Amazing, it went from primer black to that shiney dark grey color. Did you do it by hand or with a buffer? If so, what kind? Im looking into purchasing a buffer myself.

Its that the sides are the hardest to do. You have to keep bending and it just gets annoying. I keep in mind that the sides is what people see the most. Especially when your making a turn and the other drivers are sitting waiting for the light to turn green.

I used a clay bar, then paint cleaner, next was polish and then a final coat of wax to get this Gs400 shine up real nice. I can tell your a die hard car shine fanatic and that bmw of yours will show off your efforts. Keep at it.

Did you do it by hand or with a buffer?
Actually i have been known to use everything but the kitchen sink when it comes to surfacing. I did a little by hand and it worked best, but couldn't move but a few inches every ten minutes that way, so i strapped a cotton terry towel to a palm sander and buffed it at 40,000 with my black and decker My orbital buffer wasn't cutting it, so i used whatever i could to get the wax pounded into the neglected paint.

As you can see, it was effective. glad i found something before i made it to the heavy equiptment

Still, there is no substitute for a good hand job
