Default Project : High Mile Refresh

Blah blah blah just buy a low mileage example blah blah blah.

snagged a High Mileage 118,000mile 2014 is350 Fsport AWD for an unbelievably low price wholesale. Want to revive her to her former glory because I love the cars and want the challenge.

First up is addressing all the general maintenance.

Poked around these forums after the dealer told me not to touch the trans fluid. Gonna do the spark plugs first and then see about doing a fluid exchange like 60%~70%

Searching for parts cars to snag a new headunit, not crazy important to me rn but wouldn’t mind some tunes.

otherwise she seems to drive well. Slight hesitations on cold start, and mild burn on spirited driving. Hence plugs/fluid.

anyway happy to be here. Former bimmer head. Hoping these forums are more friendly.

No I didn’t buy at sloane, just stopped for the photo op after hours. Later days fellow travelers.

Nice this will be fun. I’m also a former Beamer guy and yes these forums are a much safer space.

Headunit replacement on a 2014 is a must. Are you going stock headunit or replacing with something updated like Lexion?

I was just gonna get a used oem one. Not looking to break the bank too heavily. Gonna go used oem, do the firmware update, and get a grom.

It would serve you well to do a drain and fill on the transmission. Drain the old fluid, drop the pan, clean it very well, replace the filter, then replace the exact same amount of fluid that you took out with fresh Toyota WS fluid. After that, you should set the level correctly, this can be done easily, just make sure you have a way of reading transmission temp. there are a few threads on here detailing the exact steps.
