Mind you its a bit rough since my buddy was driving the car and I'm trying to press buttons and hold the camera but you get the basic idea.
Awesome! Thanks Eric.

Hmmm.....good question. If I had to add everything up (including new speakers, amps, sub, and some help from a few friends over here) I would say the grand total to be around 600. Honestly to me thats a great deal considering what this thing can do....which is virtually anything.

Your welcome! I'm glad I got you interested in putting one together. I would say it takes around 30 seconds max for the carputer to start up. Not really a crazy long time but its enough time for you to get settled in the car and then its ready to go.

Also when your coming in and out of the car at times just to grab something to eat or get money at the bank you can hibernate the carputer so it shuts down faster but when you turn the car back on it will start up in like 15 seconds. Then when your done with the car for the day you can shut it down fully.

Honestly if you get the parts together and start reading up on how to wire one you won't have to worry about taking it in and out. It will definitely work...just have to get the connections right the first time around and you will be good to go

Haha....believe me I never intended to get this much done the the car until I joined this forum. Up next for sure is the tan/black combo interior only I'm going the professionally dyed route. will only cost me 300 to get it done and he does some amazing work.

After that should be doing something special that has never been done to a set of 97+ tailights that I'm looking forward to doing whenever I get my hands on another pair.

The steering wheel is actually from a 99 SC. It also came in the GS and RX as well. I'm actually looking to sell it so if your interested just let me know. Makes a big difference in the interior.

So I couldn't wait anymore and decided to do the tan and black interior combo. I have to give thanks to Ramon who is a leather upholstery/ dye specialist for dyeing the parts for me while I took the pieces out and put them back in the car.

Took us all of yesterday to do it....but the whether was perfect for the job. Still needs some conditioner and minor touch ups in certain spots but for the most part it came out great!!!

Pics are from today after I cleaned the car from head to toe since it was really nasty from yesterday and all the thanksgiving driving I did.

Looking nice. If I were to send you my email, could you send me all the information you have on car computers?

Thank you Not a problem at all for me to give you my knowledge on car computers. I'm going to be honest with you when I say I only know the basics of car computers but none the less it should help guide you on your way.

Check out mp3car.com to learn anything and everything there is to know about carputers....its where I learned most of my knowledge.

I've been to that site many times. I'll probably be messaging you sometime when I get to that stage in my build. I'm very good with computers and wiring. I want to know. How did you hook up the psu to the car? Directly to the battery?
Does the computer power on at car startup? poweroff the same way?
How long is the boot time?

No problem....just let me know and I can definitely help you out.

Yea the power supply is directly wired to the battery so when you turn the car on you turn on the computer. Also if you just put the car in the ACC position it will turn on as well which is nice if you just want to work on the computer.

Boot time is about 45 seconds or so.....lets just say if you turn the car on that by the time you put on your seatbelt and lets say the AC while putting down the e-brake to reverse out of your garage to then drive it will be fully booted up and ready to go.
