Wow okay might as well make this one of the longest thread here
Hartawan: I see you use a D300 and I’ve looked at your photography in the photography thread—VERY NICE shots—I noticed that the D90 is out….but I’m not sure I need the video capability…and this would be my first SLR camera (I’ve been using a basic point and shoot to this point) so I was thinking the D80 would be a nice camera with lots of features, but not so complicated that I’ll need a year to figure out how to use it hahah--
But now you’ve got me thinkin’… haha why the D90 other than the video capability?
Thanks ![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Some features the D90 have over the D80. Live view with face detection AF, bigger screen, takes pictures 50% faster (4.5fps), 2.3 more megapixel than D80, and I believe D90 has a good high ISO performance (less grainy pics at high ISO) and that's probably why I would buy the D90 over D80. However my friend has a D80 and he's happy with it. You can probably find a used D80 for cheap now since the D90 is out

Ohhhh, thanks for the info on the D90....now I'm not sure.....I like pictures taken with very little lighting (you might have been able to tell from some of my pictures hehe) so less grainy low-light pics is must for me! (Wait, did I get that right? high ISO for low-light pics? haha I'm so bad at this - I need to learn!)
Now I have to re-think it...80 or 90..hmmmm

low ISO + low light = use a tripod
handheld + low light = high ISO

Why not Canon XSi or some others??
I got my Canon XSi few months ago (still learning how to use it
)
but I love it~! my hands are not that BIG so the XSi body fits well in my hand
![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
but if you are set for Nikon, go for it..you can't get wrong with either of them
ps: you should focus more on your work than CL so that you can hire me SOON..LOL

BUt thanks for the support haha
Hmmm..honestly, I think I chose to go with Nikon over Canon solely based consumer reports and having seen pictures from the D80 -- I'm sure I've also seen some nice shots from the Canon XSi and just didn't realize it hehe
All I know is that I need to make up my mind real quick-like so I can start taking some nice shots already like the rest of you! hahaha
projectdna: Haha I REALLLLLLY wanna go but I have doubts that I'll be able to get timeoff from work to go

But any other chance I can get to be part of a Lexus convoy, I am so down!
TAis250: Congrats on your Starfire

Nice choice

istundra: Hmm I thought it would be a low ISO (like ISO 200), but I could be wrong-- I really need to get a better camera like a digital SLR and then have someone teach me how to use it
![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
and Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcomes
