9-23 UPDATE
Vincent of Omega Tintwerks has been a great help with the complex curves like the bumpers, hoods, and roof. With his expertise and knowledge from doing clear bra for over 10yrs now, I can see a small light at the end of the tunnel.
Last night we continued with the front bumper and got pretty close. Our challenge of the night was tackling the hood. With some pulling and heat gun usage it is looking great. We also laid out the vinyl on the roof, left it to dry and will tackle edges tonight.
Driver side lower fender, side skirts, and door caps are all done. Even the gas cap was finished. The roof took 2 attempts. Initially I took a stab at leaving the "on-star" antenna but that ended up with rough cuts around the base. So we dropped the antenna all together and did it right.
What is left?..
- Driver rear quarter panel, 2 upper half of driverside doors, rear bumper and I need sleep.
- Got one more headlight to wet-sand and polish, then a mad-dash to put everything back together.
Friday is the goal, or I'm driving half finished down to SoCal.
Pictures later...
