HKS Hipermax III CLX Coilovers
Hey guys,
Here is are some new pics. I had to change the brake pads this weekend (super easy thanks to this post) and I was able to take a few photos of the new HKS Hipermax III CLX Series Coilovers for the IS-F.
As far as the ride is concerned, I would have to say that there is definitely an improvement. It feels like the sudden jolts you get on the bumps on the road have definitely softened without making the rest of the ride feel too numb and "pillowy". So they kinda got rid of the rough part of the ride without sacrificing the experience. I still have not played around with the stiffness settings yet, but will adjust when the wheels go on later this week.
As far as lowering is concerned, I have not adjusted these yet because I didn't want to mess with it twice, but I just wanted to get some pics in while the stock wheels were on. As always, I will keep updating as soon as new stuff comes in.

Retains comfort of stock ride? did comfort improve?
Improved handling? on a scale of 1-10 if the stock ISF is a 1, what would the ISF be now?
What are the settings on now?
It would be interesting to hear your answers right now and after you have played with the settings later on.

Nice! so all in all, you're opinion is that it is a coilover that is an upgrade in every single aspect?

In terms of comfort, Out of the box HKS settings (dialed in at 15) are more comfortable than the oem suspension.
In terms of handling, I do feel like it handles better in the turns, but with that said it might just be due to the lower stance. I can't honestly give a rating yet because I have only had these on for 3-4 days, but nothing negative so far.

^Ditto, any updates? It looks like these HKS Coilovers utilize helper springs, am I correct? I have HKS Hipermax Performers on my Supra (which are essentially the Japanese version of the Hipermax III before they were released in the US) and they ride pretty stiff compared to the stock suspension. I'm glad to hear that they seems to be more comfortable however on the IS-F. Is the height that you have posted with the pictures of the HKS factory height settings for the coilovers or did you adjust them to be that height? It seems like a pretty decent height setting right from the factory if that is the factory setting...Darshana S...
