it's solid. s4play had professionally installed it for me. it's solid in place, and the remote in the ashtray is pretty handy. no rattle, shake, and doesn't come loose or undone. the v1 unit can be disconnected and removed easily, leaving the mount in place.
there are mounts on amazon under 'blendmount.' s4play has done a lot of these installs, so i reason it was worth having him do it right. i'm pleased with the install.
the position of the mount is also good, picks up signals with no issue. i like being able to reach for the ashtray to control the unit though it's pretty easy to reach for the main unit. granted if u get pulled over or have a cop tailing u, u probably want to shut the unit down discretely...

thanks buddy!
i just got the car back from rick (s4play) after tuning the suspension. the car is now fitted with KWV3, the front splitters and the rear diffuser.
took the car home in the rain about an hour ago...
...
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE RIDE!!!!!!!!!!
car was well planted through the entire ride home, handling 'appears' to be improved significantly--initial observation on steering reflex and feedback.
(going to go quietly and enjoy the ride awhile now)
it's muddy and dark outside. will post pics and vid this weekend. rick's going to help wrap-up the LED DRL (waiting for volt boost) and the wheel alignment next week.
ground clearance: ~10cm front (3.9" at the splitter), ~15cm rear (5.9" right before the rear wheel well). cornering prowess significantly improved and the ride quality appears to be improved but will validate again after the road dries up--when it does...

It has been a few weeks now, are you still happy with the ride quality? Did the KW's smooth out the harshness? I'm interested in these coilovers, and looking for as much feedback as possible.

the short answer is i love it!! (still) make my 3800 lb kickass sedan feel like a 3400 lb euro coupe (or something like that).
--> ~600 miles, 2 trips to SF north bound 280 and back, highway 17 in the rain to santa cruz, bumper to bumper stop and go traffic, jetting down the highway hitting (clear path) over significant speed, fast lane changes are composed.
the coilovers are still solid -- no flag. the tight turns are much more composed and the ride quality much more accommodating than the stock. very pleased.
the by product of the improved handling meant going down the rat hole of trying to make 3800 lbs IS-F feel like a 3000 lbs car with a tricked out suspension. specifically i'm looking at braces like tom's and possibly a mechanical LSD. when my current tires go, i'll be looking into lighter wheels and wider treads.
my setup is identical to s4plays i believe, having his help to set this up. i'll probably tighten the rear just a bit more on the dampening as a personal preference.
the KW V3 and the JoeZ PTS form the core of my mods right now. adding a wheel package plus under body brace and possibly a better LSD, and i'm there...
