Last weekend was a very nice JDM car meeting here in Austria. It was very funny to meet old friend and new Members to the JDM Group. The SC runs great after the timing belt change,, no issues

yes! several old first generation Celicas, a Crown Coupe, 3 Mk3 Supras, some old Nissan cars, Honda CRX, S2000,.. Imprezas, Skylines, Mazda MPS, RX7, Miatas and many more. I will look for some good pictures

its time to install a oil cooler. i tried to install the oem water/oil cooler, but the Titan Motorsport swaybars gives not enough space for this. And the hydrofan pump is in the way for the waterhose. here pictures from the test, maybe the water/oilcooler fits with some mods, but no oil filter takeoff plate or a filter fits i think, with standard or Supra swaybars is this mode possible.

Now, i use a take-off sandwichplate, a external thermostat plate with oil filter mount from Bat Motorsport (Germany) with a 90°C (194°F) thermostat and a 2-pass Setrab oil cooler. The biggest problems were finding a place for the oil filter and the cooler. The first cooler, a 16 row racimex didn´t fit in the place of the smic. the charcoal canister is too big and not enough space to move it.
after long time to looking for a good cooler, i decided to buy the setrab 2-pass proline oilcooler (464COMF-12 2P). This cooler have the IN and OUT on one side. its a heavy duty version up to 25bar (360psi) pressure. i build a bracket for this in the front of the other coolers. i used a 30x3mm stainless steel flat iron, rubber damper and M8 blind rivet nuts in the frame.

frame from the side and holes for the lines to use with rubber grommets
i build a bracket for the external filter remote with thermostat to fit on the fan. this a good place to change the filter

i also took the opportunity to replace the first build alloy adapter for the Greddy sensors (oil temp and pressure) to steel parts (BMW drain plug) the i made long time ago. smaller head, no funky paint. M16x1,5 with modified with a 1/8np thread (japanese standard for Greddy sensors)

Next step was to install the sandwich take-off plate.
the current used oil filter is not really bigger as the plate

my first Dash10 fitting installed on the hose.. big parts
hose with rubber grommets and steps to mount
this weekend is horrible here in austria, a cold weather front with very much rain and wind up to 60mph over several days stops my project. next update, next week

Your modifications and solutions are always so clean and thoroughly done, Tom! Excellent as usual! Hopefully that Setrab will be plenty to keep your oil temperatures down especially during the warmer seasons!

After weeks i finally installed everthing for the oil cooler setup. maybe on some position a hose clamp and a hose guard. Autumn has now arrived in austria, rainy days, sometimes sunny. Yesterday it was sunny, ideal for a test drive. but first, pictures from the installation:
It fills like the engine now needs a little longer to reach the 90°C (194°F) oiltemp. which previously happend quite quickly when stationary. The maximum was 102°C (216°F) instead of a good 110°C+ (230°F) during sporty driving. The 90°C (194°F) thermostat works correctly
After the trip he took a shower, dried out in the sun and then put on his pajamas
Overall i´m very happy with the setup, a few little things still need to be done and the oil cooer project is completed.
