Default The official rpk2012 build thread

Okay guys, I have been a Supra guy for way too long, and have picked myself up a new project car and purchased her just this last monday (7-18-10). I plan on taking this slow, and doing things right.

Specs:
-1992 SC400 - White
-117k Original Miles
-ALL STOCK
-********$2,500********

Plans:
-1st - Complete all maint. on engine/tranny untill extended plans are ready to "Drop in"
  • Starter (Rebuilt, local) $85
  • o2 - Upstream RT & LT Side $55 (Universal) CHECK
  • o2 Downstream LT Side $55 (Another day)
  • Knock Sensor #1 $85 (Along with starter another weekend)
  • Valve cover gaskets (w/cam seals) - $125
  • Oil Pan Gasket $35~(Purchased, awaiting install)
  • PS Pump $140 CHECK
- $350 Left to go.

-Alarm/Dissabler (Push button and proximity key)- $400
-Glass headlights/HID - $280
-Suspension - Tokico purchased, awaiting install
-Wheels - Stock TT Rims - $450~
-New/Refurb DS door Hinge - $300
-New front seats (MKIV maybe) - $300
-New center vent (cracked) - $90 (Might be able to fix)
-Component Set - CHECK
-New stereo $???
-Fresh paint - $1700 (Know a guy situation)
-New center armrest - $20
-New front lip WISE - $140
-Battery Relocation (Purchased awaiting install)
- $3,680~ to go


Extended Plans:
5-speed swap
-Quantum Auto conversion kit w/clutch kit - $1,100
-Pedal kit w/slave and res. - $500
-w58 - $1000
-5-speed trim - $60


TTL To go - $6,700
Will edit plans, and show completed with pics when things start moving along.

*UPDATED*
Decided on motor, and going in for maint to 1u for my daily needs for now.

Plan on purchasing a whole Century and having it parted out for anything I need.
  • Adapt Drive by wire
  • Seek Dr. Tweak for harness work
  • Adapt creature comforts
  • Modify cross-member and or mounts to fit front sump.
  • Anything else? If you think on it before me, please let me know.

Update:
-Added color coding in ref to parts needed, purchased, completed
-Added / Adding prices
-Added a few items

This project I plan to document progress much better than any previous ones.

Nice pickup. Looks so much like mine. I couldnt imaginr spending this much on a car for a project. WOW. Thats alot of $$$$. Good luck on your build and keep us updated on the progress with plenty of pictures.
