Well done! I've been thinking about selling my car and getting back to a mustang because my GS isnt exactly exciting to drive. If you end up putting together a kit I think you would have tons of business from people like me who enjoy their car but just need more reliable power.

Damn Jeff I got to get back out in the garage and work on my gs . I want to relocate my battery to the trunk and do something about my wires by the manifold that heat is killing my insulation and some of the wires feel kinda brittle, ever since my car has been boosted she has become a garage queen due to the fact I got a vicious speeding ticket due to my lead foot. I think this winter I might just rebuild and go for more power.

Ok, I've been driving the car for a week now and everything seems to be going very smoothly. It runs exactly like stock until the turbo kicks in, and even then the car is still very quiet. Only issue is that it misfires slightly up at the high rpms. I think that's due to the fact that my engine has had nothing replaced on it since it was new is 2002 lol. Yes the timing belt, spark plugs, seals and everything is still original from the factory and the car has 103k miles!
I'm going to be taking the car in to get state inspected in about a week. There shouldn't be any reason why it won't pass. I ordered a new turbo which is coming in tomorrow. It should increase the engine response and make it spool faster. The turbo built kit I'm developing will come with a pre-tuned FIC specific to the kit. This will esentially be a true bolt in kit that will be ready to go once everything is hooked in.
Then the stage 2 upgrade will include fuel injectors, headgasket, arp head studs, 15psi wastegate spring, and a FIC re-tune for the higher boost level.

It's quiet because it's going through the stock OEM Lexus exhaust system. If you have a aftermarket catback, then it will make it significantly louder. I just like how it is right now, you can't even tell that the car has anything done to it until the wastegate opens up, but that will be fixed soon as well when the wastegate is recirculated. Imaging blasting down the road without so much as making a whisper ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
As for going stage 3, that will require new internals. Running stage 2 will output around 400rwhp or so which I think is more than plenty for most people. Keep in mind, 400rwhp through an automatic transmissions is equivalent to around 500hp at the crank!

It costs me around $2500 to make the kit, but that's with the intercooler and piping along with the downpipe/midpipe outsourced to a overseas factory. When you get stuff mass produced, the price comes down significantly. If you were to build everything yourself and source it all yourself, you would be looking at around $3000 in parts or so. Then you would have to do all the wiring, tuning the FIC, and fabrication yourself.
