while at it, forget about the stock tranny, having it bolt up with the 2jz-gte engine would be a nightmare. just get the getrag 6 speed as well!
i have driven 2gs with some very good power, and also all the braces on. fact is, when i turn the car fast, the body just couldn't handle as well as what a stock m5 (for example) can provide. that told me how important body structure design is
My thoughts. The ECU can't be cracked. We also don't know if the 8 speed can handle 500hp. We know it can take 416 (IS F). We know the CVT can take 438hp (LS 600h L)
I just don't think any current Lexus engine would perform at that level, even the 5.0 liter. Maybe bore and stroke the 5.0 to 5.5 liters or so but not sure if that can be done!

i like the isf engine + hybrid power, that's going to be fun. i believe the hybrid engine in 600hl is pushing quite a bit of power. ls460 380hp, ls600hl 430+hp, so that's at least 50hp, not to mention the engine in 600hl is detuned meaning the hybrid is pushing out more. that together with the 410hp isf engine, ummm...
well, at the same time i am not sure if all that will fit in well

I think it only is for the GS 430 and was good for only 350hp or so.
Henry not sure about the tranny but leading towards what you are saying.
and don't forget to change the turbo to single turbo

hardly enough. those are just providing marginal help over what's from factory. to make the cars rigid, it has to be well thought out from beginning (like for the m5 and e63).

I second and third and fourth that (didn't count how many responses actually suggested this).
Building a GSF on such an aging platform is a no-no. The new M5 (to be out very soon) will have everything you need in a top-performing sedan. Including the best tranny of all the performance sedans out there (dual clutch 7-speed manual/auto) and arguably the best engine. In the past, it wasn't easy to tweak M5 engines, they were naturally aspirated with high compression ratios. The new one will be a TT V8. Much easier to tweak / work on. All the plumbing is in place. Compression ratio is low. Boost pressure will be the easiest and least expensive way to tweak the car for more HP / TQ.

anything can be done with money....just how much is somebody willing to throw down?
AEM can build you a custom ECU that will work. Just not cheap.
fully built internals on the GS460 using all custom stuff. custom turbo kit...etc.
contact SP Engineering or AMS and start looking into 2nd morgages.

do a full IS-F motor swap along with rewiring the motor into the factory wiring. Then slap in this.

Totally not worth it. The drivetrain won't handle 600HP. Neither will the suspension. You'd have to do a lot more work than just an engine swap + turbos. Yes, with enough money, you can do anything. It's just not worth it. Buy an out-of-the-factory-ready E63 AMG or the new M5.
Why would you want to mod such an old platform, when a new GS will be out in 6-8 months? And, a year after that, supposedly, the real GS-F.

Either way, we all know the value in doing such a thing is possible, just not cost effective nor practicle but modding a car never is.
