My driveshaft dilemma
so went to the junkyard yesterday here in kcmo. it was so empty, like literally there were no cars. so in the corner hiding with a black exterior was a sc300.
the engine was gone as now i need the mounts from that car. but the driveshaft was there.
so i pulled the sob and payed $44.00 beans for it.Cleaned it up after getting back to the lab.
so i hear the splines will fit the w58 tranny. but the front shaft is too short. My plan was to get the front portion lengthed at a local driveshaft shop that charges $2 per inch.
But again it's just that the ds isn't long enough right??
Wrong!!! seems that it won't go into the tranny all the way. i can only get like the first 2 inches in then it stops.. so whats the deal with this lexus people??

so, no new updates really. just acquiring some parts to do the damn thing. got a package comming from driftmotion next week. and the tranny should be ready to be bolted on,and the water pump can be changed now.
also got these..
$130.00
also $140.00
iam hoping these are the right ones/year i need. but after some test mocking i think these are the ones.
my f1 clutch kit came in
and picked up a spare sc300 gauge cluster for a few beans at the local junkyard.. thinking about selling..
And that is all for now..

Sell / Burn / Give away that F1 clutch... Get something else like a Competition Clutch or a ACT clutch... Anything but the F1.. They don't last long, they are over marketted and the price in this case should be a warning as to how it will work...

^^Just replace your disc and the stock PP will hold 500hp+.
Just get a Nice disc and use your stock PP and Flywheel, it will work.
Last thing you wnat it the clutch blowing up in your bellhousing, and tearing up your BH , it happened before I know a local guys he is here on the forum ...
Antonio is talking about the Disc, and yes it might be some garbage and remember every application is different.
I had Spec clutch on my W58 maybe 5 years ago, and it was a POS the worst clutch i have ever had, and i called spec and the guy told me that the spec clutches never worked for the 2jz and DSM guys so they don't even recommend it to them anymore.
With the Op setup maybe that trans will go before the clutch (not that I am wishing him bad luck but its reality) That W58 will not like that Holset Turbo!

Op those Motor mounts are correct those are the short mounts 97-98 they will work with the SC300 motor mounts brackets.
They are very nice , i have always use those mounts on my swaps .
I remember 3 years ago i installed those mounts on another fellow memeber's 98 SC300 and the next day he was complaining about getting lower MPG he used to get 27mpg but after the motor moun swap he was getting 26 lol.

lies
lies.
have one in the rb-s13 and it hooks/engages no problem. i don't have 400whp on that car. but it's a solid clutch. hence why i got it for this car. the pilot bushling sucks but no biggie.
