Just did some searching on oil sludge. Yeah mine is not that bad compared to what can happen. Some of the pictures out there are amazing.

yeah... that timing belt looks awful shiny for four months old...
the one right beside me that is brand new has absolutely no sheen. I wouldn't expect a pretty new (under 5000 mile) belt to look like that.

i would not say the belt has a sheen. It is new. Polished maybe, but no residue is apparent. I am thinking the liquid in there cam from me. After I get it all back together Ill run it for awhile than recheck.

A testament to Japanese engineering. Thought I would look into a valve adjustment since I have the valve cover off. Threw the feeler gauges in there and at 197,000 miles all of the shims are perfect. Not one even close to out of spec measurement. Lexus dealer told me they don't even do valve adjustments any more, but if I wanted it done, $1100.

Nice, White Sc's are dope.

I hope you're not getting 4 cats, 4 o2 sensors, and 2 stock mufflers from the stealership, even if you do have a discount! Big money!

Heck no. I get most of my parts from Rock Auto and other discount sites. I only buy what I have to at the dealer.

Parts have been arriving. I got all of my Rock Auto stuff yesterday. So new rotors are installed. Valve covers have been shined up and reinstalled with new spark plug tube seals. Installed a new thermostat and gasket today as well as draining out the remaining fluid. Will be putting in the toyota red coolant. Doing what I can. Hopefully my injectors will be back from WitchHunter by Monday. Cant really do anything else till those arrive. Bought a can of Seafoam deep creep and have spent several hours cleaning carbon deposits out of the intake manifold and the inlet plenum. Our card reader died, so I will get pictures up soon.

Another milestone. Went to Auto-zone and grabbed a compression tester. Everything checks out by the book. Specs are 178 or better. Cylinder #4 & #6 are beyond the 14psi difference threshold, but not much I can do about it. Compression is excellent.

Would someone mind vouching for me. I am trying to trade the rims for OEM's and I am afraid the mods will close it with no vouch.

I would really appreciate it.

Default New wheels, almost ready to roll

Alright here is an update. Got some wheels yesterday from a guy off these forums. SC430 wheels and tires. I think it looks pretty sharp. I am more of stock guy myself.

Engine is back together. Got my injectors back yesterday and the data sheet shows they werent that bad to begin with. So waste of money on my part, but there is security in knowing that they are good. Waiting for my new vacuum tubeing to arrive, than I will post a picture of the engine bay. Flushed the cooling system and filled with nice Toyota red coolant. She purrs.

Nice progress.

I had the SC430 wheels a few years back and really disliked them. Now that I sold them, I don't think they look too bad at all. Definitely a huge improvement compared to what was on there before

Yeah I agree. I was gonna go back to the ultra stock 16X7 wheels but decided I wanted a slightly larger rim than that. I am gonna have to take it to the tire shop because the right front wheel wont come off. The idiots who put the tire on torqued the lock nut so tight I cant get it off. Should have an alignment anyway.

I wasnt real sure about the look of the SC430 wheels but I am really liking them now.
