Toyota could have PD in the design dept...

So running with this "F" discussion, what would be a mass accepted LS "F" had it existed back during the 400 production days. Let us see your parts list.

Typical:
1. "Sport tuned" suspension a bit stiffer and slightly lower ride height. Even if .5-1cm with in cabin electronic dampening adjustment.

2. Obvious body treatments different grill and maybe body matching trim. (ie. black in place of chrome accents.)

3. Back then 18" wheels.

4. Sport type seats kinda like what the GS 300-400 had.

5. Mild engine tuning...shouldn't be hard to bump the 1UZ a few more ponies 10-20 more over the base level engine.

....

there is no Lexus stated GS-F (yet).
From my quote i type GS F-Sport(means F-sport equipped) and not GS-F. I know the difference between model (xx-F ie IS-F and LFA) with the trim level(F-Sport equipped). Some of F-Sport car come as a factory package (like CT - 200h F-sport) and some are dealer accessories, and some are special edition (like IS-350 C F-Sport).
"LTNOITALL" listed accessories that are part of F-Sport accessory line which means he wants dress up his LS 400 like how Lexus dress up other model that are not XX-F model. Unless LT says he wanted to make is LS like IS-F he can still do it because lexus do it.

if it was up to me... (98-00 LS)
-lowered/redesigned OEM air ride with damping adjustment equivalent to the old TEMS.
-bigger sway bars
-bigger (yes bigger) front and rear brakes, or at least 2piston vented rears
-different grill, headlight, and taillight surrounds. possibly fender/bumper changes as well.
-keeping with the era, either a 4.7L 2uz block, some kind of GE style headwork (with vvt-i), hotter cams and better exhaust/intake. OR built 1uz vvti, cams, headwork (wider angle like a GE style head) and a couple small CT turbos (of the era).
-17-18" oem wheel option.
-same seats with more side bolstering
-NO manumatic option. gated shifter only.

for a period Lexus made LS-F, complete as an S55 competitor.

Pure I am with you - but Lexus may never get it right with an Alpina B7 type option (sad). All I have done is take a not entirely slow UCF20 and make it handle like a much smaller car and it sounds faster than it is. For now it does the job - just cannot sell it - really love the car. However a B7 could easily be the daily

Slapping an "f" on the fender? Not for me.

PD i agree with you on GE, it will be nice to see 1UZ-GE or GSE, GTSE(this will be the first for toyota but Hyundai is coming full speed with it). Probably the gentlemen agreement law in japan prevented toyota from making V8 GE and they stick to I6. Since the lift of jishu-kisei in 2004 we only saw one GE V8 from toyota.

the gentleman's agreement didnt apply outside of japan or for export models (TT Supra mkiv had 320bhp, for example). It was likely so they would meet fuel economy/emissions standards without much hassle.

True, but the TT supra mkiv with 320bhp was for America/Europe market, Japanese market supra mkiv was rated at 276bhp. The 320bhp came from a bigger turbocharger, bigger injector compare to the one installed in Japanese market supra(headers are still the same). Toyota only tuned the engine for America/Europe market but nothing major from design point

i didnt put any stickers or any anything on my supercharged LS because it would only mean that i need attention from other people to validate myself and to feed my insecurities.
