VVTI Soarer build
Just posted an introduction and thought instead of clogging that thread up i would start a build thread.
A lot of the build is done now were in the final stages but i will show you progress so far.
For starters i got the car from a Japanese importer and i'm the first uk owner.
She's a VVTI turbo 5sp manual with LSD
The day i got her i changed the wheels straight away as i hate rx8 wheels for some reason.
Here she is the day i picked her up.
i then changed the wheels because i hated them.
After that i changed a few things really.
Here is a list of mods
3" turbo back exhaust to hks hi-power back box
FMIC with Welded IC pipes
Bilstein shocks with tein springs
Bucket seats
4 point harnesses
boost controller
SAFC
spark plugs changed for colder ones
Exedy clutch
Oki had done a lot haha i can't remember it all.
When at this stage it looked like this
And the power at the fly was as follows (ignore the dip in the graph it wheelspan a tad)
The new build started not long after these pictures were taken.
This was to support a Garrett T04r turbo
The list was
New injectors 840cc i think they are. (whoops)
Custom fuel rail
Custom exhaust manifold
Oil cooler
T04r turbo
ECU (DTA S80 pro) < Not sure if the American market can get these
HKS Timing belt
Bosch 10bar fuel pump
Swirl pot
Catch can
*****
External wastegate (Driftmotion)
Coilovers
8pot 356 Brakes
Braided hoses
I will have missed something haha
The turbo was rebuilt with new bearings and wheels as it was second hand from a supra came out brand new its awesome.

Completely forgot about the car pc i built haha
I built a car pc to keep track of all the sensors i've installed as well as the ECU software
I have an AEM wideband as well
here is the car pc
oh god i must be tired and the brakes
The LSD makes a big difference on accelerating although i wouldn't mind upgrading to a kaaz one

Were going to start with low power and go up until were happy when tuning. It's all a waiting game at the moment but i can't wait. There will definitely be video's when its all ready to be mapped

Cheers
I got the car from a place called japcarsandparts in Newcastle they had a fair few Soarers in but i knew exactly which one i wanted when i turned up. Naturally the most expensive at £6000 but managed to get them down to £5500 which comes out at i think $8900?
I think the white one was a 1jz twin turbo auto. That was a lovely car as well and a good few Thousand cheaper lol.

Oh wow, this is such a quality build! I really want that engine! And about your carpc, is that the factory screen's housing? cause it fits very well in the stock double din location. i've been looking for a new screen for mine, one that's brighter and anti-glare. Good build though!

I wondered how long it would be until someone noticed that mod
Thanks for all the good words
Rebuilding the ct was an option but i wasnt happy with the stock exhaust manifold. It's just so small and flows really bad. Decided the best option was to go all out and see what happens
The car pc is shockingly the stock housing it fit really well i was impressed it also saved me a lot of hassle of making something to fit. Still worked out cheaper than a dvd head unit too.
Again cheers for all the comments next is down to the ramp and get the new downpipe made and do a good service. She's then pretty much done other than mapping
Will keep you updated.
