We have 93 octane just about everywhere here. Thats what i will be using the whole time.. maybe race gas for the first tune. :-) we will see how the tune goes. Prolly going to Nashville or Atlanta for that.. should be running in 2-3 weeks. If everything goes well and i get all the kinks worked out. No work on it today, my truck brome down again and its parked in a crappy area in a parking lot.. when it rains it pours!!!

i was asking is there a alternator form another lexus/toyota model that can be used on the jz engine that puts out more voltage than the stock unit..

nissan quest(minivan)-110v
rb20det (car)-100v

i just did said above swap and the car runs much better hence more voltage going to the coils and fuel pump and it's oem so fittiment is almost exact sans a few modifications.

is there a mod like that for our cars???

i think you mean amps (current). all car stuff is 12 volts.

a 110v alternator would blow all your fuses, probably arc across the blown fuses, and burn all the wires (depending on the amps of course)

to answer your question, i don't think there's a higher amp alternator we can use (i'm not aware of one anyway) as i think the SC alternators are 100amp. that's pretty beefy for a sports-ish car.

EDIT: i just looked up the amperage for the SC alternators by year, and the 92-96 are 100amp, 97-2000 are 80amp for some reason. interesting.

You can get a 200 amp alternator but it won't be from a lexus or toyota car.
Call MVP or PHR that have them for sale $$$$$

Definetely overkill for his setup , Unless he is running (2) or (3) 044 or bigger fuel pumps, Electric fans, etc... You won't need bigger than a 100 amp.
The stock is 90 iirc

Ok back to topic guys lol, we thread jacked this guy Mark !! sorry bro..

200amps is the one to get. Www.driftmotion.com sells one for like $230. I am looking to get it since the stock 100amp just has no *****.

No problem, Quick... Apology accepted.. :-)

Back to topic, cams will be installed in the next week. The 3 inch intercooler piping and the reducer for the throttle body, came in today along with the clamps and couplings. I ordered the oil sender adaptor today from DM so I can use my AEM digital gauge. Aaron told me the space for the 1jz is tight and need this with the hose extension to clear the AC compressor. The 90 degree black coupling is on backorder and they should be getting it on Friday, then shipped to me.

Is there a step by step DIY out there for installing these cams? I want to this myself... they seem pretty straight forward and I have the feeler gauges..

Installing the 264s won't be back you may not have to change the shims because they are almost close to stock.
Not bad installing them just make sure you torque them in sequence, i would print the tsr online and take your time.
if you don't have the repair manual i have one online i can send you if you wnat , it will make things easier !!

oil pressure switch just drill and tap the bango bolt on the oil filter housing.
