Hey mark sorry I didn't get to text...the weekend turned crazy with work and sports.
hmm a clank in the bellhousing. I would that it is something floating if you were able to get it started and then it stops because. Is the starter new?
bolts do not look like it is protruding much...

Also you can turn the engine with the crank bolt until it hits something inside of the transmission/engine.
I figure if he will get the correct ARP bolts it will be fine!

Yikes! If the flywheel bolts go in too far, the only thing they can be hitting is a main cap! :O I certainly hope that is not the case... I am digging into my wiring diagrams in a little while re the relay issue.
EB1 pin 8 triggers the main EFI relay on the SC400. What are we trying to figure out specifically?

sc300 appears to power them straight from the ign7.5a fuse and ignition switch ===== to IJ1 pins 3 and 7.
sc400 appears to power the injectors from the "ignition main relay" ====== to pin EB2 pin 2.
but no matter what i did, i couldn't get power at EB2 pin 2.
i guess i just don't understand this main relay circuit on either car.
attached pic of sc400 ignition main relay. the B-O wire on the top right of the pic goes to M-REL on the sc400 ECU.

Had fun out there! I am going to post the picture later on with Jacob and the dog reading the wiring diagrams hahaha.
Hopefully we will be back up there in a week or so. Don't forget to call Aaron at driftmotion and see if he can shed some light on those flywheel bolts. Almost positive that's the problem. But I'm a ricer, what do I know? Haha.

Here are those plugs at the battery, that was a no go. We tried to understand the Japanese writing on some of the websites, but heck, that was also a no go. I think we did some things accomplished, more than orignally thought. At the end of the day, I was happy with the little progrees, and the fellowship of other Lexus SC fanactics!!!

For injector power, the SC400 uses IJ1 pins 3 and 7 to power the injector and ignition circuits. Both pins are fed from 30AMP FUSE "AM2" in the fuse box. The SC300 uses 30AMP FUSE "INJ", but like the SC400, feeds IJ1 pins 3 and 7 for injectors and ignition.
The main EFI relay on the SC3 and 4 are the same except for one pin. On the SC4, the relay output feeds through EB2 on pins 2 and 3. These are your two main power feeds post relay. On the SC3, the main EFI relay feeds out on EB2 pin 3 and IJ1 pin 5. That means the the Soarer ECU should also be looking for power on EB2 pin 3 and IJ1 pin 5.
If you repin IJ1 pin 5 on the Soarer engine harness to connect to EB2 pin 2, you should find your missing power feed. Also verify that EB2 pin 2 is part of the same AM2 FUSED 30AMP power feed circuit.
Finally, verify that EB1 pin 8 is tied to a 12v output on the EMS. That will energize the main EFI relay.

wow.
can you post your diagrams? which year is your FSM?
my alldata diagrams look nothing like what you've described. i'm going off of 1992 sc300 and 1992 sc400 fwiw.
