subscribed, interested to see how your setup will turn out. Although your choice in head unit does seem sleek, consider a real double din, It's even more sleek It's just so convenient in so many ways like updating your interior, upgrades your sound system, navi, movies, it's worth the extra $

Lol. I did just the opposite of your set up. Didn't want my rears so powerful, so I ran 3 way 6x9's in the door, and the high mounted tweeter. Rear deck was used dkr rear fill only.

Your set up looks REALLY NICE. good luck w/ your project. Anxious to see the end results.

I'mm still considering it. in the end, i might actually do a touchscreen double din. but the extra stuff like navi and movies doesn't do it for me.

Thanks for the input guys! advice is greatly appreciated here!

soo are u considering a 5 channel? 2 for the fronts and 2 for the rears? the last 5th channel aka a mono channel to run the sub? or using whatever the **** the stock system used? i havent torn into mine yet, but am curious to see, i seen that the stock sub is 1ohm, if so id reconsider the D4 model of the Boston and go with a D2 so u can keep that 1ohm load. get the most power out of the amp as you can

Yes you can call it that as im building this system from the ground up, and what i want is precision and quality out of my system, not just decibels, then the 4 ohm sub is a better choice for me.

u will be able to get the same quality out of a D2 as your gettn from the D4, no problems there...ha i had 4 8's in my old spl car, i could play any song from as low as 22hz to a peak of 63...thats a HUGE variety and not only did it do it at a 146 it did it with sound quality, its just about how u tune it man! and hte box, but considering the rear deck and it being free air, i see the dynamat u ordered helping ALOT with the rear deck rattle/flex that i ahve noticed in mine

so far i carved out the mounts so they sit as flush as possible and cut them to allow even shrinkage of the material as it dries.

once the material is stable enough, they will be ready for the install.

Alright guys. The rear mounts are curing at the moment so i cant install them yet. but i managed to installthe right front speaker.
what i did was take out the housing and dremel out a hole big enough for the new larger speaker to sit flush. and filled up the housing with a generous amount of fiber fill. to better the sound.

this is how the speaker sits now. im waiting for the sealant to set before i put this guy back in.

You're really taking your time on this huh? Let me know how much did everything cost, I wanna get a better idea if it's feasible for me right now...

yeah i want to make sure i do it the right way once. i'm pursuing perfection. since some of the stuff was a "hookup" by a friend, theni can give you an estimate of how much it would be in retail once im done. how does that sound?

im not a fan of big systems either. hence why im upgrading in quality instead of putting really big subwoofers and calling it a system. i want something that will reproduce my music with high fidelity.
