Murderesque SC Interior Build
#168
More ongoing projects. My window trims have multiple cracks but not through the leather. The cracks are annoying so I decided to take the out and repair them. I tore off the old leather and used headliner adhesive and contact cement to bond the pieces together. Then sand it down to make it more flush. The material will be black leather. I tried doing the headliner in perforated black. I thought by taking out the carpet of the headliner it would be easier for the Perf to adhere to the backing board. I was wrong. The backing board ripped in multiple places trying to take out the carpet. Now you can notice it through the Per leather. I suggest anyone doing this, keep the carpet on the headliner. Headliner adhesive is pretty damn strong and will hold onto the carpet as well as high temperatures. Never mind the purple felt where the sunroof area is. It's just the top of my poker table

Dude, I just checked in on the build and it's frackin' awesome! Truly an inspiration to those of us sitting on the sidelines, pondering what to do!
I'm thinking of a two tone interior, something to look updated and yet not the heat related issue I told you about before. What do you think about carbon fiber where the taupe is? I'll have to do something to the center tunnel, it's starting to look too scratched.

The material for the window trim should be arriving at the interior shop tomorrow. I should have at least one side done with pics tomorrow. If u are able to do it yourself, total cost about $45 per trim. The economy sucks and everyone is always looking for an inexpensive alternative to buying uncracked oem pieces.

F-This window trim project! I can't seem to get the leather to conform to the curves on the corners to be as clean as I want to, or even close. Sorry to disappoint you guys, it's so friggin hard. I do not recommend doing this DIY unless this is your profession. My next plan would be to have my interior guy do it or dish out the dough for "like new" ones. Pm me with black uncracked window trims for sale. I'm in!

Test fitting the trims before painting the top portion of the door panels. Need to sand the panels down a little more.
