People were telling me the v160 was smooth compare to the r154 in shifting. I don't really know from experience since I have only driven the r154. Maybe later I will sell my r154 swap for a v160 if I can find one from someone that I somewhat trust.

Mine is notchy on 1st, 2nd, & 3rd.... they seem to go away when outdoor temperature is around 75 degrees. I use MT-90 too.

I bought an AR5 Aisin transmission, pretty sure it will fit, differences are mount, clutch disc, driveshaft, shifter, etc. Excited about triple synchros on it.

Go for it! It really not that difficult and can be done for rather cheap if you source the parts correctly and dont get in a hurry!

Pantherqs has his 2JZ Solstice running 800hp as he claims.. he said AR5 trans holding up really well. Search the thread "pontiac tranny" he replied at the end.

I was looking into the v160 but the rear diff alone goes for 1700 all day. Lol that's pricey just to get the correct rear end. I will just stick to the r154 for now.

Yea I have a auto Tt diff. But the v160 uses a 3.13. Those diff are extremely pricey so pricey it made me not want to do a 6 speed. It's roughly a 10k tranny swap. 4k tranny 2.5k clutch 1.7k diff. 1.8k in parts driveshaft etc. ouch. Lol. Unless I find a good deal on a v160 it will be a long long time before I can afford v160.
