Tonys '01 SBM Build Thread
So i purchased my 2001 SBM with 109,000 miles April 2011.
Great deal too; $6,700, clean tittle, maintenance records, 1 owner, etc....
Long story short the car was perfectly stock except for a GROM audio unit. I've always told myself i was going to start my build thread, but
between my last year of school, and constant nagging from my GF, who despises car's because "we could be spending time together instead you
waste your money, blah blah BLAH BLAH...." I just lost track of time.
But the way i see it, it's never too late, and i plan on going reverse and talk about my MODS and Troubles that came up this past year.
(Something alwaaaays came up with almost every MOD i did, i swear, and hopefully i can resolve other peoples issues so they won't have to go
through things i did)
Current MODS
Exterior:
Engine:
Suspension & Wheels:
Interior:
Future Mods:
I'll leave this empty for now, because there's a lot of things on this list, and i do have it all written down, but its waaaaay to long, But
one things for sure, i'm going boost hopefully by summer, so i plan on doing the VB upgrade and 3rd gear Sprag upgrade for sure within the
next 2 months.
So yeah....For the time being, here's my girl as she sits today...not that girl, but you get the idea...Picture Whoring time!!!
Today was actually my first day rocking the Full F&S&R kit with my rims, cuz i just got her out the body shop a few days ago and it took me a
few days to modify the rear fender to stop it from rubbing the exhaust and my aggressive rear wheels.
Unfortunately the only camera i have at the moment is my phone, which is a real shame, but my friend should be hooking me up with a nice
photoshoot later this week and hopefully i'll have some nice shots up after the Buffalo Wild Wings meet in White Marsh VA this Sunday...
Oh, just a few special thanks to:
p.s. The trunk spoiler just kills the setup, i know, i'm just waiting to find a good deal on a blank trunk so i don't have to weld/ mold the
holes from this spoiler when replacing with the seibon spoiler.

I did a random google search on strut bars, and the only thing i was sure i wanted was to get one that would fit over the engine cover. I really dislike leaving the engine exposed. The google search i did pulled up a FS thread for matching front and rear bars nearly mint condition for $400. I was able to talked him down to $350, and BAM!, lets just say some of my friends and family received their Christmas presents a little late, lol.
The only down fall of the PLP bars is they don't fit the TEIN EDFC kit, but i'm lucky enough to have a good welding shop thats custom fitting it right now. The promised me it would be as strong if not stronger by the time their done cutting and re-gusseting it.
I haven't seen any other IS with it yet, so i'm pretty excited to pick it up when their done. I'll be sure to post pics.
Heres a pic of my trunk currently though.
