for some reason, Im really close to buying 15x10s with around 0ish offset for my sc300
I know, It would be absurd, most of you think id be crazy, and it would look terrible, but I think they would look decent. I would run some decently meaty tires (225s). I would lower it to get it tucking a little tire in the back and a little gap in the front.

Why? your wondering
they look alright (I think)
you can get 15x225s really easily (for drifting)
nobody does it
oldschool wheels are sick

Default drift spot

So after spending about 10 minutes on google maps, I found a dream spot. its an abandoned barking lot that belongs to an abandoned building about 15 minutes from my house. I spent about half an hour there yesterday and ruined what was left of my already worn down tires. its better than it looks in the picture, theres nothing in the lot now (no semi trailer or anything)

and last night I drained my spare diff. My plans for it right now are open, maybe weld this one too as a spare and have different gearing because Im planning on having smaller wheels

im definitely going to fill the mounts with polyurethane because there old and flexible.
and I would like to treat it with por15 and paint it

i also need some new bushings pretty bad

I have a question,
I have a recaro profi spg xl seat from another car and I want to put it in the drivers side for the sc300.

Which seat rail/slider combo should I use?

I think its a bit wider than some of the other ones and lots of the rails say "not for wide seats"
will it fit?
I really like the Nagisa Auto Super Low Seat Rail (SLR) because Im tall and I want what will put the seat the lowest

thanks
scott

If I cant find any (which hopefully will not be the case) I will make adapters for the rails that I have on the recaro already from the little tabs off the lexus oem rails. not sure if anyone has done this but it looks like it should work

another thing I came across
I am in the process of repainting my front bumper, in some spots the paint it cracked all the way down to the plastic bumper material. and I cant get my orbital sander into the corners and small areas. what is the best way to sand it all down before paint?
thanks
scott

so here are a couple of pictures from a week or so ago. since then, i took the bbs off the front because im tearing down the 6 bbs i have to build 4 wheels and selling off the rest of the parts. I am going to try to trade my 7.5" barrels so I will have 10j in the front and 11 or 11.5 in the back. I like these wheels a lot, and i think they will look good despite being 16" diameter. plus i love having a large sidewall, keeps wheels from getting damaged

anyways, Ive been drifting a ton and improving a ton, going through tons of used tires. the original 2jge now has 190k and is still going strong. i have learned to drift on this car, so i cant compare it to anything, but the motor feels decent. to hold a drift around a turn of large radius, I have to get the entry speeds up high so i can use that momentum to throw it theough hald the turn and clutchkick my way through the rest. I assume that is pretty normal with na motors. im running 195 with tires with 50 psi for drifting.

my plans are to finish building the wheels, roll the rear fenders to fit, get a whole list of suspension parts that I have planned, and then when the time comes that the motor is going out, im going to rebuild it into an na-t setup

my plans are pretty oem rebuild with acl bearings and using either an hx35 or an hx40, probably the 35 because I dont feel the need for a ton of hp and Id rather have faster hps. I think im going to keep the w58 unless i find an r154 in the yard (i think there was one that i missed, still pissed about that) and then a ton of other parts in the engine bay

im going to try to make a driving video to show where im currently at. i would actually love to get some response/feedback from my driving because I know there are people on here that are heaps better than ma that can tell me how to improve

i fogot to mention, ive also been selling my nissan parts and stuff and I will be likely selling my s13 project to a guy soon, im going to be putting all the time and focus and money into this

I have a set of those wheels but they aren't bbs brand wheels. I'm happy that they are at least true 3 piece wheels in 16 inch.

yeah, there are a lot of 3 piece reps out there with the bolts that dont actually serve a purpose. 3 piece makes for easy sizing adjustability

well, kind of an update i guess. i crashed my car. probably would have been totaled by ensurance standards but i knew for sure I wanted to keep the car (ive been really liking the lexus a lot recently) so i began to tear it down to repair.

what heppened? my friends and I go to this abandoned parking lot t drift. great spot, been doing it a lot. i spun doing about 30 into a curb. broke (rear pass side) back wheel, axle, all 3 control arms trailing arm, rotor, and front fender and small dent in hood. will be repairing hood. I also need a new fender if anyone has one locally, otherwise im going to the picknpull

anyways, i went last night to a guy in milpitas and got this subframe ('92). should do the trick for my suspension. i also got a ton of extra suspension bolts and nuts to replace my stripped and frozen ones

also, because the ebrake cable on my new subframe is cut, i plan on just using a handbrake to the read drivers side. i dont use it for drifting, it will just be for parking. i think i will have to adjust it but it should work

awesome news, the lca bolt on the subframe i picked up was not siezed so I was able to get it out easily. dont know it what it is about lcas, but 2/3 of the lca bolts ive dealt with were frozen to the lca inner bushing sleeve and did not come out.

anyways, now i have to deal with a stuck upper control arm nut/bolt. then im almost ready to swap in the new parts.

i also now have 3 dead 3/8" ratchets. two are really old and the mech broke, and on my craftsman one the actual square metal piece snapped. i wonder if i can get a warranty on the craftsman
