Every time I see Aaron's black car , I can't help but admire a shiny black SC and I know I should have one of mine painted black !

Replacing the 1992 bumper with a 1995 so I can have a removable center vent and true fog lights . I have installed an OEM lip from the 1992 bumper though. .

I posted a few more pics of my shiny black car today. Now if I will leave you alone you may have enough time to get a black coat or two on the red mamba.

I know . I have seen them. I am jealous really of that shiny black SC. Reason why I want to learn how to paint , so I can keep my cars always with good looking and shiny paint. It will be another learning process but trying and doing it is the only way to succeed. Hopefully I will be successful.

I don't really think it is hard ... just need to have the right equipments and again determination. I have been doing a lot of research on some forums for car painting .

Gerrb let me know when you figure it out, I'd love to learn. Maybe you can teach a class, use my sc400 to demonstrate and charge $50 a head!

It takes a lot of practice to be able to paint good. The secret as I have always heard and read is the preparation of what you paint.

Paint will not stick to a surface that is not properly prepared. You will end up with peels , cracks or bubbling. You got to prepare that metal surface as good as you can so the paint job can be preserved or can last.

Because of the 5" wide lip (deep dish) on the wheels , my offset on the soon to be Black Mamba is at 22mm . I had to flare the rear fenders to fit in wider tires on the 18" wheel. Right now they have 275 .

After days/weeks of hesitation and since I don't get a bite for a trade or sale of my Toyo Proxes R888 315 tires , I will get them mounted on the wheels of this soon to be Black Mamba today. I hope they don't freaking stick out too much .

This car actually still have stock suspension , Once I get the coilovers and the thread of these tires are gone , I will be able to squeeze in 335s or 345s. Right now with the 315s, I still have around 20 mm on each side to play around with.

The 315s are well inside the fender flare right now .

I love the way these R888 315 tires hook up on a warm dry pavement... unbelievable . For those who are above 500rwhp , I believe they are great street tires. I just wonder how many miles you can get out of them before they wear out and needs replacement. Drag Radials are not known to get high mileage . You usually can get between 5-8k miles and this is the first time I used R888 and I won't hesitate to use them again even if they are a bit pricey . The 315s are around $300 each. I hope they are good on wet pavements that is if you are caught on the road and it rains.

My only comment is they are a bit noisier.... but damn ... they hook so well !!!

Thanks Dennis .. you have to teach me how to paint. I am decided to play around with painting the Black Mamba. Got to learn so I can change and maintain the colors of my toys anytime I want without paying so much every time for a good paint job .

Get the Toyo R888 for your MKIV , you will love them .

Before I even go start sanding / preparing Black Mamba for painting, I will do some body work aligning all body lines. Today I decided to do some covers so wires behind the headlights can be hidden from plain sight.

I will get these aluminum covers either polished or chromed ..

Driver side done
