wow that is alot of projects you have there, the supras are basically investments, but that may be too many SC's. maybe just pick the least fav SC and part it and drop the goodies in the 97. then you still have a couple 92's and a 97 and can tell the spouse you got rid of a car which I am sure would be good news.

you are thinking of what I have in mind. Get all the chrome / nice goodies of the chromed engine bay ... but build a better / powerful drivetrain and 6speed for the 97 sc300 5 speed. In that way it holds more power and its engine bay is a work of art . I do want a high compression vvti 3.4 liter engine for it .

Surely I would make quite a good amount of money when I am ready to sell my MKIVs since they were all good deals when I bought them. I don't let a MKIV pass when it is mentioned to me and I know it is being sold because of a necessity. Those are the best ever deals . You get them way below market price because many times those kind of sellers won't even advertise them on the forums for whatever reasons.

Got a true dual 3" all the way exhaust for Red Mamba One and I moved the 4" all the way exhaust to the Old Man's Tan since I am expecting more power on my new daily driver

Replaced the waste gate barb fittings with 1/8npt / -4an fittings so I can use -4an braided lines from the waste gate to the boost solenoid . There is so much heat on that exhaust side that rubber hoses tend to deteriorate over time and if you happen to miss broken wastegate lines at higher boost , it can cost you an engine so I always use braided lines which are a bit better than rubber hoses.

Grounds are very important with these 2jzgte swaps . A lot of problems are caused by having a bad ground so I added another ground for the engine to the body after a short drive around the block today. Can't wait to push this new daily driver of mine and see what it can give me . I am indeed happy with the way these PT-6870 turbos been spooling on my other cars that are 6 speed. Now I get to try them on an auto trans car. They are the fastest spooling +1000 hp turbo right now in the market .

from the picture above , you see that the oil filter would be easy to access now ... and what the hell is that small piece of rusty looking metal hanging at the end of the filter below that exhaust shield that is still bolted down there ? Will check it out in a few while the car is still on jack stand.

My 4" downpipe / midpipe / exhaust is well tucked in. I just need to weld brackets with rubber to hold it in place properly . A 4" exhaust all the way will support +1000rwhp for which a 3" exhaust wont. This new daily driver of mine wont be that low to the ground since it has the 295/50R16 Mickey Thompson ET Street II Tires at the back ... a good raked look.

Since my new Daily Driver which is the old man's tan now runs and on a break in period, I have decided to start doing something for my 4th SC - the rare 1997 SC300 5 speed before I loose my interest again. Honestly I really don't need the car. I have the feeling that it is the 6 speed MKIV shell that I still have that I might end up building . So if someone still wants to give me a good offer or trade let me know. I am not giving it away though ...so dont give me a low ball offer. It is not gonna happen.

There it is , next in line to be worked on ...

IF I end up building it , I want the best power train / drive train for it being rare but that will take time for me to collect all those parts for a High Compression VVTi 3.4 2jzgte Block with a Fully Built all Ferrea Valve Train. It will entail a lot of money which I don't have so it will take time for me to be able to put that setup together.

Meanwhile so I don't loose interest on it, I want to get it temporarily running on the stock 2jzge. This block has over 165k miles so refreshing it would be a good idea. If I decide to boost this stock 2JZGE I want it to be able to handle at least 500-700rwhp reliably . You don't ' have to spend much to install all ARP hardware and making sure that the long block has good compression and leakdown numbers. Today decided to clean up the 2JZGE I will use just to get it running while I am collecting parts for it.

Started Cleaning up the pistons

Carbon Deposits as seen on piston # 6 & #1

Will continue scrubbing all the pistons heads today till they look like new. The compression and leakdown numbers for this engine were good but I am replacing all rod bolts, mains and head studs with all ARP hardware so I might as well check the piston rings, their gaps and eventually hone it. The weakest link on a stock 2jzGE or 2jzGTE are the rod bolts .
.

decided to take out rods and pistons to inspect side skirts of pistons... they seem pretty clean without scuffing... only signs of use as evidenced by old oil marks

inspected piston rings and measured the ring gaps while on the cylinder.. still on the tight end so decided to hone the block so I can have a better ring sealing and compression

One of the weak link on a 2JZGE or 2JZGTE short block with stock internals are the rod bolts, the dark colored bolts you see in the picture. I am replacing them with ARP rod bolts.

All piston skirts , piston rings , ring gaps while on the cylinder had been inspected. Cylinders where honed and rods / pistons / bearings reinstalled. ARP rod bolts installed but not yet torqued since I am replacing the stock Mains Caps bolts with ARP Mains studs. Then clean the oil pan mounting surfaces of old sealants before I bolt the upper / lower oil pan and oil pickup.
