Thank you JP . Am glad the thread in one way or another is able to help a lot of people which was the reason why I document a lot of what I do. Been there , trying to scour the net for informations which a lot of people are not willing to share. Been there trying to get things done by others just to spend tons of time & money and at the end of the day still not have a running car and worst get to know the true colors of some people in this industry. Some people will always prove one way or another that they are pieces of sh?t either because of envy or simply were born to be pieces of sh?t.

Just a precaution though , not everything on this thread would be the best way of doing things so I advice you to do a lot of research and verify what you read on the net. Whatever info is on this thread is what I did on my cars . Some will agree and some will not . But if such info will help some then the effort I put in documenting things will be worth it so others would not be in a situation I have been in the past . No one will best take care of your interest but yourself . Many will only pretend to help till they can squeeze a penny from you or will benefit from you .

One of the things I needed for the stock 2jzgte VVTi 6 speed on the Black Pearl was an intake to mount the MAF sensor. I didn't want to spend $120 for one that is being sold from the stores. I knew I can get it done cheaper .

So I took a rubber block and aluminum pipe and started the work . Cut a rectangular hole into the rubber block and into the aluminum pipe

For those who are waiting that I finish my documentation on the 2jzgte VVTi Harness .. don't worry .. I will get that done as time pass . Right now , I need to get my Black Pearl running before the real cold weather sets in so all my four 2jzgte SCs will be running and at the same time when the Poly-urethane Body Kit from ATP arrives , I can work and install them on the Black Pearl and Red Mamba Two.

Default 2JZGTE VVTi Wiring Harness

A good number of people had been sending me messages asking when I will be done with the 2jzgte VVTi Wiring Harness Documentation. Apparently some are using it as a resource for their swap. I will try my best to finish it soon but please bear with me. My priorities now is getting my Black Pearl running. Am done with the harness and I will get there on the documentation and it won't be too long , I promise. I try to do a little at a time when I have some time in front of the computer.

Also if anybody has questions on the 2jzgte VVTi Wiring Harness , please post your questions on this thread so I don't have to answer them one by one and more people will benefit from the question and answer. Being a moderator here , I get tons of other PMs unrelated to the wiring harness so I want to minimize answering individual PMs about the harness which can take a lot of time.

Now let us go through each of the 1997 SC300 / SC400 Electrical Diagrams so we can extract where each Pin / Wire of each SC300 / SC400 Body Plug goes. Summary of Pin Configuration for each Body Plug is on Post 3417 to make it easier for you guys. These diagrams and info extraction are for your reference so you can verify for yourself how I came about with the summary.

For the SC300 with Manual Transmission from Factory

Note : It will be wiser to bypass the Clutch switch to minimize the possibility of Crank Walk with the 6speeds. If you have a car that originally had auto transmission , you do not actually need Pin 17 of IJ2.. just connect or short Pin 5 & 6 of the Park / Neutral switch .

EB1
Pin 3 goes to Pin 23 of IK2 , Pin 2 of F59 (STA) , Pin 17 of IJ2

EB2
Pin 1 goes to Starter Solenoid (On our VVTi Harness, starter solenoid connector goes to Pin 8 of BF2 so you need to move that wire to this pin)

IK2
Pin 23 goes to Pin 1 of EB1 , Pin 17 of IJ2 , Pin 2 of F59 (STA)

IJ2
Pin 17 goes to Pin 1 of EB1 , Pin 23 of IK2 , Pin 2 of F59 (STA)


For the SC300 and SC400 with Auto Transmissions from Factory

EB1
Pin 1 goes to Pin 23 of IK2 , Pin 2 of F59 (STA) , Pin ? of Park Neutral Switch (needed on Aristo VVTi ?... needs to be verified later)

EB2
Pin 1 goes to Starter Solenoid (On our VVTi Harness, starter solenoid connector goes to Pin 8 of BF2 so you need to move that wire to this pin)

IK2
Pin 23 goes to Pin 1 of EB1 , Pin 2 of F59 (STA), Pin ? of Park Neutral Switch (needed on Aristo VVTi ?... needs to be verified later)

Painted the MAF intake pipe . Glad I was able to make my own and saved at least $80 . I need to get a black 2.5" silicone hose. That blue one is a sore in the eyes. Someone asked me why a VVTi now when all my 4 MKIVs and 3 other SCs are non VVTi . There are now more aftermarket parts for the 2JZGTE VVTi. A lot of ECUs do support it now too. Even GSC and Kelford now has VVTi camshafts for the 2jzgte . It has been proven that the VVTi gives more torque down low where we spend most of the time driving our cars on the streets. Better throttle response , less lag and more torque are some of the benefits you get with a VVTi. Another plus worth mentioning is it helps increase gas mileage. Reason why with the upcoming 3.4 Stroker for this Black Pearl , I will pair a fully built VVTi Head with it.

Default Vvti harness heat or AC or climate control gets no power

No power to my climate control after the Vvti Gte 2jz swap in my 92 OG 5spd car. So



That's was the missing plug I replaced .














This picture is from a friend of mines car . But that same plug I had to replace , but I have the same wires but idk where to connect them

Bksc718 - sorry didn't answer back your other PMs after the initial one cause of the time zone difference. Am 5 hours ahead of the east coast where I am now.

Now I see which plug you are referring to. That is the II1 plug. It has nothing to do with supplying power to the control panel nor the blower motor. Even if you disconnect that plug , you should have power on your climate control and blower should work. Though you would not have cold AC air or hot air. The wires on that plug is what control the AC compressor for cold air and the heater valve so hot coolant can get into the heater core so when the blower blows hot air comes out since hot coolant passes through the heater core.

Since you have a 1992 , check diagrams 25 - 26 (3 diagrams) on page 6 of this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...de-easy-6.html to see the wirings for the AC Climate control and Blower Motor .

Do I get you right that the Climate Control has no power and consequently you can't turn on the Blower ?

Check the 15A cig and the 10A dome fuses ... they provided power to your Climate Control. If those fuses are good , check the wiring under the dash going to your climate control.

Default 2jzgte VVTi Wiring Harness

For those sending me PMs about the 2jzgte VVTi Wiring Harness Documentation ... I am done with it.

Just to remind a few , you will need to use the diagrams that pertain to your model year. Some pins on some body plugs are pinned in different locations on different year models. The 1997 which I have on the Black Pearl has different wiring diagrams from a 92-94, 95-96 and even the 98+ so you be careful.

For those with a 1997 , post 3417 is the summary of all connectors. Basically everything you need is there. All the other info you can use to verify how I came about with such tables. My harness had been installed in the Black Pearl before I left for Europe and once am back will fire it up as soon as I get the after market dual exhaust in there.

Good Luck and don't hesitate to ask questions on that harness and will try to answer your questions in as much as I can. When I am back a very close friend is requesting me to help him out on the wiring of his 1JZGTE swap . I might document it if I feel like doing it when I do the harness ... this documentation takes a lot of time to do. I had a lot of time in trains and planes while in Europe that allowed me to spend time on the documentation.


I AM DUPLICATING POST 3417 JUST TO MAKE SURE THE MOST INPORTANT INFO ON THE 2JZGTE VVTI WIRING HARNESS DOESN'T DISAPPEAR. I ALREADY ACCIDENTALLY ERASED THE BOTTOM PART OF THIS POST while editing something... ANYTHING AFTER THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR is gone.... DAMN IT !!!! I will try to rebuild when I can but you should be able to deduce / extract it from the preceding posts where I tackled the connectors one by one. I have checked all my 4 laptops at home and i couldn't find a cached page of such info........ ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Going through all the diagrams one by one , I knew it will take a lot of time. I initially didn't think of going this detailed with the SC300 body plugs but decided I might as well so people will understand better (instead of me just saying this pin of plug A goes to this pin of plug B) how I figured out where each wire / pin from the body plugs connect to the 2jzgte VVTi harness. I have a 1997 SC300 so I need to use the 1997 diagrams. There are some differences between them and the diagrams I posted on the 2jzgte Wiring Harness Made Easy thread which were for 1992-1994. I will go through each wiring diagram of the 1997 SC300 / SC400 . If anyone needs the 95-96 I have them too. I actually have all info you can think of about all years of the SC300 / SC400 coming from the TIS (Toyota Technical Information System) . Anything you want to know about every model of Toyota / Lexus vehicles . Get a membership on that website and you will have a resource of whatever you want to know about our cars.

It helped me remember which connector I am done with and have yet to do. Here I will do the final one. It was my checklist while I was doing my final verifications on my 2jzgte VVTi Wiring Harness. I always re-check every plug / wire at least twice before I install my harness cause it will save me a lot of headaches later.

You will see where the F59 and F60 ECU plugs wires will be coming from within the chart. The chart does help you have a glance of all the connectors with their pins and will be very useful during verification / testing process of your harness once it is all said and done.

Yes cig fuse was fine and dome fuse . The only light comes on the climate control are the lights on the buttons when you turn on the headlights and park lights . I'm going aem infinity so I'll point it out to the person doing the harness !

Once all your under the dash wiring are good , AC would be easy to control with any aftermarket ecu... just use one of the low switches available from the aftermarket ecu like powering a relay which in turn controls the AC Condenser clutch (ACMG) .. the ac comperessor can be protected by the parameter on that low switch of the ECU .. like turning it off when RPMs are very high .. and so on.

The stock aristo 2jzgte vvti ecu do not also have an AC request ON Pin for the Air Condition System since the GS300s have it on through the MPX2 data network of the car. So those with stock Aristo 2jzgte VVTi ECU has to play with relays/wiring for their AC to work together with making sure the ECU requirements of having a healthy AC system are also met . You cannot just leave the ECU pins for the AC empty. Some needs to be grounded to tell the pressure lets say is alright , etc. It really all depends on which AC Compressor you used and how you wire things / how you enable the AC system considering that there is no AC request ON pin on the Aristo 2jzgte VVTi ECU .. unlike the non VVTI 2jzgte ECU .. it has that pin (PIN 34)

* The following is a comparison of MY 2jzgte VVTi wiring harness meant for a 1997 SC300 5speed , which I just documented in the past few pages, WITH THE stock 2000 SC300 2jzge VVTi Auto Transmission wiring harness.

This post will show how similar they are , that is why I will recommend acquiring a 1998-2000 2jzge VVTi harness when doing a VVTi 2JZGTE swap on your SC especially if you have a 1998-2000 SC300 . There is less wiring to do. Even for a 2jzGE NA-T VVTi , this will be a better route.

* Difference will be inside a parenthesis then in another parenthesis will be my suggested course of action for a stock 2JZGTE VVTi swap and even a 2JZGE NA-T project with the GTE VVTi ECU.



* When there is no difference , you will find (**SAME**) on that line so you don't have to do anything. If an ECU connector pin should be Empty, just pull that pin out and make sure it is insulated with a heat shrink so you don’t have loose / bare pins creating any shortage.



* Check post #4311 for an actual 1998-2000 SC engine harness that I have converted to be used on a 2jzGE NA-T . It was really easy.
