Thank you Eldon . Heck , the $1k I save by doing my own can get me go fast goodies so it is worth the trouble even if I hate doing it, honestly. I am so **** about checking the harness over and over just to make sure everything is done right and I won't cause any damage or fire on my car.. hahaha.

Drop by when you are free. You know me , am always free when I am up there .

Default 2JZGTE VVTi Wiring Harness

I don't think I have posted the completed 2JZGTE VVTi Wiring Harness before I got it in the bay . Decided to use the corrugated conduits I had so I save though all wiring are wrapped with electrical tape inside then wrapped with the conduits. Well .... another $1000 saving by doing it myself.

The whole harness

As you can see , I added wires for future use (rolled wires)

ECU and Body Plugs with Igniter inside the car . The taped wires are 8 extra ones for future use .

I just added wires for the 6speed reverse switch and speed sensor instead of piggybacking some of the auto trans wires. So this harness can be used for a vvti swap with auto trans once I take it out when my built engine comes in

UPDATE 02/12/17

Note that if You can get a 1998-2000 SC300 VVTi Engine Wiring Harness ... start with that , you will have very little work to do compared to the previous write up for which I started with the Aristo 2jzgte VVTi wiring harness for my 1997 SC300 5 speed and merged the two.

* The following is an ON-GOING Comparison of MY 2jzgte VVTi wiring harness meant for a 1997 SC300 5speed WITH THE stock 2000 SC300 2jzge VVTi Auto Transmission wiring harness just to show how closely similar they are that is why it makes sense to start with the 1998-2000 2jzge VVTi harness when doing a VVTi 2JZGTE swap on your SC. 1998-2000 SC300 will have the easiest time swapping a 2jzgte VVTi.

* Difference will be inside a parenthesis ..... ( Bolded and Italicized) then in another parenthesis will be my suggested course of action for a stock 2JZGTE VVTi swap
* When there is no difference , you will find (**SAME**) on that line so you don't have to do anything.

Just curious, but usually these harnesses have oil residue and dirt in them, what do you use to go about cleaning them up, to work on them and put them back into service.

Just got my poly-urethane bumpers. These are solid and very tough in the way they have been manufactured.
You break these bumpers ... then you definitely have a bigger problem to fix . They are thicker than the original bumpers. Got to let them expand tonight and see if I can find time to install them tomorrow and test fit them . But that is something am not worried cause you got to be creative on aftermarket body kits to install them nicely. There might be imperfections but with a little work, you should be alright !

Kudos to APTech . Irving - you did a good job on these . Can't wait for the sides and rear. Well, I hope once people starts to get their tax refunds , we will have more on board for the sides and rears so we can get them going since I prefer the whole kit to be in poly-urethane !

.

Woke up and bumpers where basically in shape . I still have some wavy area at the bottom but that can easily be taken cared of by a heat gun now. Truly am amazed on how solid these damn thing are and am sure everyone who got into the group buy can attest to it.

I guess Red Mamba Two wouldn't get the Aero Craft Kit after all. I placed both cars on the lowest dip of my drive way to see if I will have problems... RM2 won't make it.Both bumpers now barely have 1 centimeter of space from the pavement. The AC kit lowers the the front at least 1 1/4 " to 1 1/2" ... and even with my 92 bumper plus lip it is already right there on the pavement. When I got this car, the lowering springs they installed made the car so low . And the dip on my driveway is nothing compared to other dips on some roads. So I guess the other AC kit is going into Red Mamba One or The Old Man's Tan. They are higher due to the meat they have on their tires being drag radials.

The Black Pearl .......bumper just laid on top.. not a single bolt in.

I guess I was wrong in my initial ride height measurement for RM2 , the AC kit will fit after all .. . AC Kit ... win in looks , win in construction , win in price ... APTech scoring a hat trick , lol !

Both bumpers still laid only on top .. no bolts yet

If you put the 92 bumper with stock lip , the 97 bumper and the Aero Craft Bumper on the ground , the difference in height between the former two and the latter is around two inches

There are no pre-marked hole notches for bolts here but should be easy once you have determined the alignment of the foglights. I repeat , ALIGN .. mark or verify if pre-marked notch is on point ... then DRILL and bolt. DO NOT JUST DRILL ALL THOSE pre-marked notches. Not all cars are same. Some might have had worked done previously on the body already .

These pictures where taken before I replaced the wheels with 20's to bring the car a bit higher because with the 18's the front bumper was basically touching the pavement on the deepest dip on my drive way. I have never even used the heat gun yet and my bumper hasn't really expanded or returned to its supposed to be shape in some areas . But I will heat some areas to remove some wavy parts especially at the bottom of the bumper and near the lights to cover spaces caused by the bulging plastic. So the heat gun should do quite some magic later .

You see some gap between the inner side of head light and middle part of bumper ... it is because the bumper is still bulging in that area. it hasn't returned to shape... Heat gun should do some magic there. But you see the diagonal lines of the hood to the bumper aligned.

You see the wavy parts at the bottom since my bumper hasn't totally returned to shape.... heat gun will do the magic

This is personal preference... bumper bottom body line is lower than the 97 sides ( though it is not really bad , just magnified as you go farther ) . I still prefer the sides and rears of the AC kit since the rear bumper lip is also more pronounced with the line across the whole bumper at the back....... calling Irving of APTech ... hahahaha .

Guys ... it is not rocket science to install the bumper . In my opinion, it may not be 100 % perfect , since to me it is only 99.8 % but I honestly believe APTech has done a good job . No shaving,cutting,modifications... it is a matter of aligning , then drilling at the proper place if the pre-marked holes are not spot on since not all our cars are same due to probable previous work on some of our cars , then bolt on. If your installer says there is too much work to be done to install it... FIRE HIM right away !!! All it needs is common sense though I know that damn sense is not so common anymore.

Thanks Gerrb,

I'm happy now. I figured if anyone could get it installed correctly to see if it fit right it would be you. Mine is all perfect now after sitting and a couple of rounds with the heat gun. Now that I now fitment is good I'm going to start drilling some holes.

Thanks again,

Shane
