^^ You know, that sandstone beige/tan color in the above picture looks really nice. A very appropriately 1990's color. I agree that it has a sleeper appeal.
Very true...I would add some black to it to make it a little bit of a darker shade than stock....so it is still 4K9 but with a custom touch
It looks even better in person when it's maintained properly. There is a guy in my area with a Monterey blue aventador, and his car is covered in swirls from improper washing. It makes me sad every time I run across his car.
Someone PMed me asking what portable pneumatic puller / pusher I use. It is one from Harbor Freight .. $120 . Here you see it when I did the second Red SC
The tire below is a Toyo R888 315 and the wheel has an offset of +20 ... so with a 12" wheel and an offset of +40 there should be no reason why I can't fit also a 345 tire on this car .
That looks really good, Gerry! I love wide rear tires with wheel well flares. Would you post a couple of wider shots of RM1 as it is now when you get a chance? I'd like to get a better look at it with the finished flares and 315's.
That would probably be complete overkill on my car with only 350-400hp and pricey rubber but does it ever look good!
I though my 285 was fat! Wow!!! I have some work to do lol

Those are only 315s . Wait till you see the Toyo R888 335/30R18 and the Mickey Thompson ET Street II 345/35R18 on these cars . They are what I call REALLY FAT & WIDE . Just tried those 315 tires and different wheels with an offset of +20 to confirm again my wheel / tire fitment computations and see where my flare stands to figure out if I needed some more pushing out before I clean them up with body filler to smoothen it out and remove the curtain / bacon like waves caused by the pulling / pushing.
Being able to fit 345 and 335 was exactly the reason why I wanted the fat suit (wide body). Apparently now just with good flares , I can get those 345 & 335 tires on 12-12.5" wide wheels with the right offset and still looks OEM / stock flare . A wide body quarter panel isn't needed anymore . Lots of time and money saved right there . For those who want even a 13" wheel , they will also fit but not necessary for a 335 / 345 tire. And the disadvantage of using very wide wheels, when you want to go 315 or 305 or even 295 drag radial tires ... then you are going towards stretched tire territory.
I agree keep the sandstone Beige.. I think it looks great- So clean looking and a nasty sleeper color for a naughty old man...LOL
I would say without a doubt do a white one or even a white with a little pearl- This is my all time favorite SC for sure!
And you better keep the Black Pearl Black!!
You know I always loved your Anthracite Grey Supra, but what about that new Lexus Color- Nebula Grey?
It doesn't look like that anymore. I miss those wheels but they were a pain in the *** to polish all the time. Even when I had them chromed it sucked.

Apply a ceramic coating to the entire rim. It'll make them super easy to clean, and you can use a leaf blower or metro vac to blow all the water out. Wear ear plugs if you want to use compressed air.
Don't want to high jack Gerrbs thread. After drivetrain install the front bumper cover is going to be painted and then the whole car is going in for paint correction and ceramic coating. Film going to be applied to front bumper and lights also.

I have the same wheels as shane. I professionally polished them to a mirror finish and used the best coating we had st the shop at the time (opti coat pro) 2 layers, 24 hrs. Apart and left to cure for a week. They were still beading like crazy even after a year of driving and daily use for that entire summer. However, even with the coating on there, they spotted and oxidized like crazy. Always washed when the surface was cold and used a metrovac to blow dry. I got so tired of it I had them powdercoated and never looked back.
Definitely keeping the Sandstone Beige now ... a true sleeper color after all and less painting to do . No need to mess around with the cabin , engine bay and trunk .
