I know it was awful to hear and even worst seeing it in person. Got to work as soon as I got it since I wanted it out quick of my place. My buddy brought home the engine and transmission and I got all the rest that can be useful for me for my SCs especially that interior .

Now empty ,and is now ready to be towed out of my place tomorrow by a tow guy who picks up cars / shells I don't need .

Default 1997 SC300 Original 5 Speed (Classic Green Pearl) Build List

The green 1997 SC300 original 5 speed had gone through a lot of work ... daunting at times but worth it . It got the best parts one can think of since my final goal was at +1400rwhp all boost though right now it is at +1200rwhp all boost meaning no nitrous yet with the Precision PT-7675 CEA that is currently installed. I am looking for a Gen 2 Precision PT-7685 Sportsman turbo to get me to my final hp goal for this car then give it a 150 shot of nitrous which should hit well above +1500rwhp. In any boosted car , you got to use reliable parts based on the use of the car and your hp goal if you want a reliable car and get the right people to do the job or you will have an unreliable setup. I needed the stroker short block done by the engine builders of Titan Motor Sports since block had to be machined for clearance due to the longer stroke of rods and the line boring for the billet mains.

I knew this car will have the most dollar amount in terms of my built SCs so decided that I count every penny and see where I am at the end of the day .

TOTAL LABOR COST for the project which usually will run from anywhere 30-70% of your parts cost depending who does it isn't even computed here cause I did every work on this car except the short block assembly and the welding job . Then you have the tuning costs which is usually around $700 which I saved cause I did it too. My only cost was the dyno time which is around $250 .

UNBELIEVABLE how the cost can rack up if you are building a reliable high hp setup ... just parts above are at around $80k ! I can use cheaper parts but I wanted some of the best parts out there 🤗 . You get what you pay for !

First thing I had to work on this car before anything else was fix the part that was in an accident . I had a parts car that I did cut up the upper front part as one whole and got it welded on this car after removing all the damage parts. Applied seam sealer so moist / water won't start any rusting then primered . Washed the whole engine bay , dry and paint it .

You would probably not even know that this car was in an accident if I didn't tell you or show you where the work was done once it is all buttoned up .

I had to get the shattered windshield replaced too

As parts came in , just not to have them laying around , I was installing them in the car even if I knew I had to take them out still to install something else like the engine .

Installed the AC condenser

When I got the dual fans, fan shroud and pwr radiator , put it all together got it in there

Aftermarket MKIV radiators need to be raised so you can still use the brackets to hold the radiator in place . So I had to find way to raise the rubber holders higher

all in

My buddy who bought that NA-T always wanted to have a Supra MKIV so I made a deal with him that I will sell him my project 6speed MKIV but I will have the right of first refusal if he later on decides to sell it. Every top notch parts I have gathered for the MKIV project I have put into this Green SC300 .

Like I had the Titan Motor Sports Big Boy Intercooler as they call it. I had Tial BOV flanges welded on both pipe on each side of the IC . I also had a dual loop Nitrous Intercooler Spray laying around so decided I might as well install it to help cool down the charged air though it was not necessary since I have a direct port nitrous setup , a nozzle for every runner of the intake .

Getting lean is the last thing you want especially on high hp cars . You will blow your engine quick. This car has a fuel setup that can support +1800rwhp on E85 . Decided to move the fuel cell that I had on a MKIV after selling that car to a buddy.

That battery sits on where the CD changer used to be.

Weldon -2345 with the Weldon pre and post filters plus the filter for the internal Walbro 274 pump . Weldon only comes in when car is above 500rwhp . In that way you don't heat up the fuel so much plus you don't have the crazy noise generated by big pumps while cruising .

The internal Walbro 274 can easily provide the fuel need for 500rwhp on E85. I have two -10an feed lines and a -10an return lines which are a lot bigger than what semi trucks have. Those -10an lines are the size of garden hoses .

What is inside the fuel cell

Then I installed the suspension stuff . I did the Megan coil-overs first .

Pictures show a Custco Engine Bay Strut Bar .. I actually have the TRD strut bar there now . Then did replaced the stock sway bars with those from Titan Motor Sports and installed the rest like the Do Luck Rear Cross bar and so on. They all helped the car a lot to be firm and from any body roll or sway on a high rpm run through winding roads. I am currently looking for Do Luck Floor Bars / Braces that goes parallel to the body chassis. They are installed perpendicular to the struts , cross bar and sway bars.

Loving both the red and green cars, Gerry. You're a man after our own hearts bringing these '97 5spd SC300s back from the dead. Keep it up!

Thank you sir . Being the rarest 5speed year model among SC300, if we can save one from going to the grave yard , it will always be nice .

If you are building a car with power , make sure you have the ability to be able to stop it or you are asking for trouble. I installed 6 pot calipers in front and 4 pot calipers at the rear.

Front

Rear

For now , I have these as my winter wheels to clear the calipers. Am looking for a better looking set that will match the Classic Green Pearl Color, preferably chromed . These are size 19" wheels at the moment. Looks like I will get away with size 18" wheels so I can have more sidewall even during winter season though it will be very close with these huge calipers and rotors .

Falling in love with this damn stock red 1997 SC300 5speed . It doesn't have the speed and power I always wanted with my SCs but being so clean and like new looking even if it is 23 years old , it gets a lot of curious eyes while on the road . I did some cruising around town to make sure everything works well as they should and before I head back home filled up the gas tank .

I bet this car will look even better once my buddy does his magic with paint correction and fully detail it in and out with the engine bay .

BTW , this car has now better pictures taken last Saturday and are posted on the previous page !

This post is related to the red 1997 SC300 original 5speed I posted in the previous pages that after a couple of years enjoying it , will auction it on the Bring A Trailer website. I don't have room to post pictures in the past pages so posting this one here.

Things kind a changed a bit . I said that when I auction that car , I will include an extra engine that I will build so to give the winning bidder peace of mind. Because of what I just acquired these past days , I will make it even better . As an incentive for the winning bidder , to attract more bidders and entice them to bid higher , I am now including a sort of its twin car, another red 1997 SC300 except that it has an auto transmission. The winning bidder can use it as a parts car ( a lot of parts for that matter , hahaha ) for what he/she just won but he/she probably won't since it is a relatively clean car and runs so good.

Four nights ago , a friend woke me up with my phone binging because of his text messages at the middle of the night telling me about this car being for sale just 1.3 mile away from him and 8 miles away from my place North of Atlanta. Keeping it short , was it luck or whatever , the seller sold it to me considering that there were more than 30 people who were after it based on the FB messenger list he showed me.

So here it is .., take note , this is not same 1997 SC300 5 speed posted in the previous page . It has an auto transmission . It is just a look a like car externally. This is the car that will come as a FREEBIE that the winning bidder will get ON TOP of my 1997 SC300 5speed with 57k miles on the chassis that will be auctioned on BaT once I get tired of seeing them. Right now I don't think that 5speed will be going down in value as time pass but instead will just appreciate because of its condition and rarity. It will be hard to find one in that condition so I have all the time to wait for the right moment to put it on the BaT website for auction. It can be once they are 25 or 30 or even more years old. We will see... you never know even earlier , lol. It all depends on how soon I get tired of seeing them.

The car has been repainted . It is not as shiny as the original 23 year old paint of the 97 5speed. It still looks good though.

Thanks guys ... .

I literally just picked up from the paint shop one of my sleeper (1050rwhp) with the built ATFSpeed auto trans and brought the 6speed sleeper (1225rwhp) so it can get a new paint job too. I guess , a paint job for two of my sleepers is my Christmas gift for myself this year . This car was done more than a week ago but was able to pickup only today cause I was in my place down south for Thanksgiving week. I was told to wash it in a week then let the Meguiars stuff I have do its magic to make it more shiny.

need to install the fog lights later !
