Absolutely beautiful, you will never have to make any kind of excuse for this car. I love it and it is painted one of my three favorite colors and that makes it very special to me.
thanks a lot guys , appreciate all the kind words !
While I am in my place up North of Atlanta , had the chance to compare the 24 year old original paint job of the 1997 SC300 5 speed with the first two GTE Black and Red SC sleepers that were just painted. Not even close . The Factory paint job which is now 24 years old is a lot better ! Now, something telling me to keep the damn car till it is 50 years old 🤔😂 cause I will never find something like it ever again.
.
Only those who have seen or will see this car in person will truly appreciate its beauty .
I saw one of your 97 5 speeds for sale on an auction site after it was totaled a couple of weeks ago. I'm guessing it was one you had already sold off. JT8CD32Z9V0040209

Yes I sold that black 5 speed almost two years ago to a local guy . Then around 5 months ago , another guy sent me a message telling me that he bought it from the guy I sold it to and was loving the car . I was surprised when I saw it on Copart for a future auction last month .
Sad , it is now salvaged . That car was inspected by a local DMV appraiser before I sold it and he told me that the body was clean meaning he only found a dime sized bondo on it on the driver side quarter panel.
Beautiful paint job again Gerry! Really nice. Is it a Toyota/Lexus paint code or something else?
thanks Anders . Yes all toyota / lexus codes .... the black GTE is color code 202 , red GTE is color code 3L2 and the red 1997 SC300 5 speed is color code 3L2
Gerry, the new paint jobs on those two SC's look really good to me from here! I do feel that Toyota went overboard on the factory paint jobs on these cars. It's not surprising that the low miles preserved red 1997 5-speed still has impressive looking paint. Your other two completed SC's look beautiful, fresh and clean regardless! I'd love for the paint job on mine to look that good! : )
And... I'm sorry to learn that the 97 5-speed that you sold recently was already totaled When you saw the listing was there very extensive damage to the body?

yes , the damage is extensive. Probably repairable but with a salvage / rebuilt title .
Before I left my North of Atlanta Place last weekend for my home down South, since weather was good , decided to shoot some pictures of the 3 SC Sleepers.
.
This car (at the center) will be painted a Lexus shade of Blue , more likely 8U1 (Ultrasonic Blue Mica), still debating since the 4th SC sleeper will be a shade of Lexus White. My painter will do the finishing on that front bumper modifications and as soon as the cold weather is over , he will paint it. I started modifying the center opening so the big as? Titan Motor Sports Intercooler will get more cold air.
.
This will probably be my new SC sleeper favorite since it will make more power / torque than the Black (1025rwhp / 850ft.lbs on a built 2jzGTE / ATFSpeed Built Stage 4 TT Auto Trans) and Red (875rwhp / 750ft.lbs on a built 2jzGTE / Tremec MagnumF 6speed with Twin McCleod Clutch) , once everything had been sorted out. I wanted a Sound Performance QSV in there so the HKS Exhaust manifold was modified from twin scroll to undivided, from an HKS 60mm wastegate flange to Precision 66mm wastegate flange thus tune needs more tweaking.
Red Sleeper has Black Interior
Black Sleeper has Tan and Beige Interior
Blue Sleeper has Black and Beige Interior
Beautiful pictures, Gerry! And I like it that the E320 Merc makes a cameo too
Looking forward to seeing the bumper on the middle car finished later on. And I love the wheels you have on that one. Classic five-spokes!
That old MB girl is always ready to do some errands .
I actually have a new set of Forgestar D5 Drag wheels 15x10 18x9 with drag tires going into that car.... still 5 spoke wheels as you know just like the Weld RTS S71 just cheaper . Am cheap , hahaha.

that is an easy one , with over 15 vehicles , it depends on which place I am in . What are the cars in that place , what day is it , where am I going so I know what I am eventually gonna do , Is the vehicle gonna do the job , what am I wearing , will I be alone the whole time , will my wife be with me ....... then I know which one to drive.. hahaha. It is not really too complicated . I can decide in 3 or less seconds flat .
