Researching this now. Currently collecting parts. I'll be documenting mine as well. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. So have you completed it already? Or are you about to start it?

If it's not a hassle, I would like to know the measurements, shaft length, shifter extension length, parts list for the swap, and if there's parts that can be reused like the tc and such

I am in the process of doing my r154 conversion in my conversion.

First things first the peddle conversion I thought was the easy to fit in is the 1989 toyota celica alltrac its a very small unit and it takes up less space then the mk3... For all of us who have traction control you can eliminate the traction control without loosing abs... I am on a aem v1 and you do not need a manual ecu to get the r154 to work. The only thing I did was jumper the switch for the auto to close the loop to make car start.

items:
r154 transmission (mk3 prefer 300-500 bucks)
1z bellhousing
1jz pressure plate (or f1 chromoly steel light pressure plate or the w58 pressure plate with the mounting hardware retapped which the dowel pins for the clutch set up line up 2jz only not mk3)
clutch kit custom( action clutch pressure plate 2800 lbs/ kentucky clutch custom full face disk kevlar/ceramic with the throw out bearing and line up tool for under 450.00 ) suppose to hold up 450-500 torque
Marlon shift bushing up grade ( no need for internal work my car will never see the track)
arp pressure plate mounting bolts
mk3 drive shaft front half
mk3 transmission mount
shifter extension (6 inches will put you back in the auto cut out) Custom a local machine shop can do it. it cost me 170.00
Marlon Vehicle Speed Sensor ( the 154 mechanical and our has a magnetic pickup)
Toyota celica alltrac clutch peddle assembly( 35.00 at local junk yard)
Pilot bearing from Toyota!!!!!!!!!

**** the pressure plate assembly weights 14 pounds I would not go any lighter than that.. the dual mass assembly is 22 to 24 pounds. There is a lot of feed back from the engine through the tranny if you go to light. The 6 speeds have a tremendous problem with lighten flywheels.

*** the pressure plate is the same plate driftmotion uses for there drift cars and I ordered it straight from action clutch and saved 70 bucks on it. Go thru the toyota dealer ship and get the 1j bellhousing save 60 bucks on shipping from drift motion...

****** If you are running a Aem v1 the standalone managment system dont control trac control so it will not hurt to loose it but if you on a ecu rather its tt or na there is a ton of info on the supraforum to elimainate it beside on clublexus if you are doing a manual swap. I prefer to keep my abs.....

How close are you to being finished? I had everything figured out but the shifter extension length and the driveshaft. So does it look like the MK3 front shaft and the GS rear will work for the swap? You're awesome man thanks for sharing the info.

I like your detailed list, i'm gonna assume that since the r154 and the w58 are physically the same size the shaft and shifter should all be the same, how about the master and slave cylinder?

is300 master and slave with breaded line. the ebrake pedal will all have to be pulled out, the abs box needs relocation and im looking at oem sc300 pedal to get tacked and mounted properly, and sc300 ebrake with cables

Default re :)

I have just started my swap. I have been waiting a while to do since in am 72 day from becoming a engineer in Electronics. School has taken up alot of my time so not time for my project. But you can run either 5 speeds by just jumping the park switch on the ge trans harness. For the guys that dont have trac control doing the 5speed swap is a breeze but for other like myself who want a daily drive that still has luxury of abs for braking is the reason I choose the celica trac all wheel drive clutch pedal set up. the master cylinder is smaller than the Is300 and the mk3 units. You can also pull the reservoir off and thread it to fit a breaded line and have your resevior in a remote location like the hondas to keep the trac control accumulator and pump. The track system only work in conjunction with the back brakes and you can cap the system off and there is no effected of reverse flow in either system. So it just easier to cap the system off from the other all together. I have a is300 clutch pedal set up if anyone needs it.....in the future.....

I'm picking up a 1st gen gs300 this weekend, I plan to save up the parts needed to do the R154 swap. Probably going to be auto for a bit though!
