Ugh...I've been so freakin' busy over the past few months that I haven't even had the time to turn a single nut or bolt on this car since my last post!

Some updates, I finally made some free time today and forced myself to start working on this car again lol. Did some light work on the wiring harness today. I'm planning to relocate the ECU to another spot so that I can run a huge custom front facing intake manifold

Updates 8/16/2012

Start by pulling the dash apart. The entire dashboard has to be removed to make room to pull the wiring harness inside the car.

All the panels have to come out.

Both sides pulled out, everything needs to be removed!

Everything....

Having an unbelievable amount of fun at this point....lol.

Ok, everything is out of the way. Time for some real work now.

Here's the wiring harness from the factory. It has been removed from the ECU box.

Here's the wiring harness taken apart!

There is an insane amount of wires in these cars. This will be quite an undertaking...lol.

Stay tuned for more updates.

It's an absolute pain in the ***....Lol. I really hate how the writing is done in these cars. Many of the pieces are unable to be separated. The wiring harness from the ecu runs all the way across the dash. Any reason you're trying to remove it?

The reason is that I was in an accident I was hit on passenger side and the ABS sensor (module) which is directly behind fuse box was smashed along with the fuse box being cracked and pretty much destroyed.

So I ended up removing the fuse box by removing the glove box and amp. Some of the tabs were broken so it was easy to remove.

But trying to put it back seems impossible unless I remove more components. Which I'm a lil timid to touch.

Did you weld a different V-band flange to the turbine housing?.... if so, how did you do it, and what did you use... My turbo setup i bought used and mine came that way and ended up cracking...

I was told by a few different welders that it is because of turbine housing is cast it can be welded but over time will crack again i have also had a few people say you can weld cast with out it cracking but only a certain way... i would love to know cause id like to use the original housing due to it being twin scroll and bigger!

checked out your builds you have and they are aweome!!!

Thanks
Dale

Id like to get my hands on the parts you put inside the tranny to hold up 700hp. Any chance you had the time to have those manufactured.

Cast iron needs to be preheated first, it can be done but is very tricky to be done properly. Keep in mind there are many different types of welding professions and just because someone is a 'welder' doesn't mean they know all about welding different types of metals properly. It might stick two pieces together if someone just migs it on there, but it's going to come apart.

You really need to braze it, and peen it to make it stronger, but something like a v-band flange on a turbo housing outlet it a pretty small area to try and peen it in, as well as since your welding steel to iron which doesn't work quite the same as peening a cast to cast weld or fixing a crack in a cast piece..

But for finding a local person good at welding cast, some of the welders hands on past experience would be a place that does farm equipment/tractor repair, as this type of equipment and thier associated attachments have lots of heavy duty cast pieces that need to be repaired and hold up to serious stress..
