Looking good, I've always loved the Teal Mist color. By chance do you mind telling me what you paid to have the car repainted in that spot?

Thanks man! Save up and do the tan to black swap! It's very well worth it!

Well actually it was only $365 for the whole rear of the car (including quarter panel repairs on both sides because of dents), front bumper, and some minor touch up. The reason it was so cheap is because I got it done at a tech school. Honestly though, it looks pretty dang good. There are some small things that are barely noticeable, but you can't beat that deal!

Yup! That really is the way to go! I've been telling peeps here that the SC will never feel right and drive right until you get the old bushings replaced. It will drive like new with very precise responsiveness after all of that. Good luck.

Yeah, I really can't wait to see how much better the steering/handling is once all is said and done. I know it will be a huge improvement.

Yeah, I agree I think it will be a great improvement! I'm eventually looking at doing this upgrade too bro...while I have my lex on stands I think I'm going to powder coat the CAs before I install the new bushings! Just an idea "E"...something to think about? LOL

Small update, still waiting on suspension, car should be done Wednesday or Thursday, and still waiting on hub centric rings. I need a 79mm to 60.1 ring. Anyone know where I could find a pair of these? 79mm is the old OZ Racing wheel hub size....

Another small update. ETA on suspension is Monday, bumper got painted today, and trying to order hub rings from Tire Rack since other supplier didn't have any. Pics of bumper and a new Scion FR-S I saw....

Nice build thread man. I haven't been following it as much. The progress looks great and I live the black interior. Keep up the good work man, and your right the little touches goes a long way.

Thanks man, I'm on a pretty tight budget, so it's slower than a normal build. It's getting there one step at a time though. My goal is start the 1JZ swap by next summer. I want to finish the interior (get rid of all tan, and just get some replacement speakers), finish the exterior (the paint, front lip, maybe other wheels and suspension), and then start the swap. In the end I want a good SC daily driver. Slow and steady wins the race.

Are you doing the paint on your own? That looks like a really good paint job. How much did it run you?

Nooo. I debated on doing it because I've done body-work and paint before, but I just didn't have the time right now. I'm having it done at a tech college for $365. That's the front bumper, misc. touch up, and the whole rear. It's turning out great!

Small update, bumper is done drying and looks good. Should be done by the end of the week. Still waiting on the call back from Tire Rack about the hub rings.... Also saw a nice looking FC today, so another teaser of the old RX7 that I had, and of the 49 Chevy that I pulled out of the barn to start working on...
