Going Manual Swap, built auto to built R154...
Whats up everyone!! Alot of you guys know my car, figured I'd give an update on the new build. So just some catch up, did the 2jzgte vvti swap, went built ATF auto, went from a 6262 to a 6766, made 460whp@18lbs with a 3400 stall. Can ran great all summer, no issues until the end of summer. Long story short ended up melting pistons #1 and #2, still trying to figure out why, was either fuel pump or injectors of which both were brand new. So I just recently parted the old motor out, everything minus my turbo stuff, fuel system and ecu. I also put my built trans up for sale to see what happened, and it sold this morning, already have the money, being shipped out on Monday. So the only reason I considered selling that bad *** trans was the thought of going to a built R154 manual.
So here we go, have to find another motor hopefully this coming week. Freed Engineering is going to build me an awesome new built r154 with all the marlin crawler parts. They are not doing the manual swap for me though, as much as I really want them too, I just don't have the budget this time. I have a ton of money is this car and this will be motor #3 for this car in 2yrs of my owning it, do the math lol... Motor will be pretty stock minus the single setup, and hopefully a set of cams before tuning. I have to find all the parts I need now, like clutch pedal, clutch master etc. If anyone has those please hit me up.
For anyone that has done this swap please any advice and pics you could share would be awesome!! I'm hoping to talk to Jeff(TTurbopimp) this week and get a good look at his setup to base mine off of.
Here's some pics.
Just toward the end of summer when it really came together.
And now...

Yeah I agree, can we just change the title to "Official Twoloose Build Thread" .. I'm going to make a separate thread to ask questions about the manual swap if I need to. Thanks for the help!!

***UPDATE***
So not a ton of actual progress yet, just been trying to source parts and things. Trans is being built by Freed Engineering, will have all the Marlin Crawlers parts, new seals etc. Finally got a motor, should be here Wed. also sourced by freed from his importer. Have a bell housing on the way, gates timing belt, and should have clutch pedal setup tomorrow... This is where it gets interesting, finding an IS300 clutch pedal is almost impossible. You can buy the setup new from driftmotion for around $550. But I haven't wanted to do that, so with talking with Freed about it we are going to try something I haven't see anyone do yet, there may be a reason but we'll see how it goes. I can say if it works well it would open a potential less expensive, easier and better solution to finding a $550 IS300 pedal setup for the GS guys seeking a manual trans setup...
