i got it for a steal. the guy hooked me up. he sold me an engine without wiring harness, throttle body, a/c compressor, altenator, ignition coils, power steering pump and lower pans for 1500.

im looking at alternatives. single disc clutches around the 500 dollar and under range.

No it wasn't on it way out , i drive my fresh setup with that PP for 2 weeks till i get my new clutch back AND when i got my clutch back , i decided to freshen it up again with a new Timing belt, and front seal since it started leaking and sur enough ..It destroyed my Engine again that was teh 4th and last..

update. no pics tho.
i sold my 1jz head, timing belt cover, bc264 cams.
i purchased a stage 3 clutch for now from F1 racing i got second hand that was never used. just to get my car going. i can easily change the clutch later.
i also purchased a new oil pump and some toyota silicone for the engine.
also i purchased new radiator hoses since the VVTI has that hump in the front.
a new vvti solenoid was needed. seems these are fragile and tend to break during transport.
luckily i also was able to score a 2jzgte (non vvti) upper intake plenum for my engine so i can retain the stock IAC.
tomorrow i should get my CXracing thick wall manifold. after i get the new oil pump installed and the lower pans swapped on to this 2jz. i should be able to drop the engine back into the car. i will try to take as many pics as possible.
i wanna sell my current 880cc low impedence injectors. going to get a top feed rail and some FIC 1100's. that should meet my goal of 600+ on E85 and be more than enough for 500hp on pump.

today i pulled off the oil pan off the 1jz finally. needed to get the sumps off so i can get the 2jz together.
anyway here is what i found.
oh yeah. Crank walk from the 2800 lb pressure plate.
these were reduced to mere thin sheets of paper.
i didnt see any scorch marks on any of the rods. maybe it can be saved. who knows. i'll pop off the main and rods caps to inspect. if they are safe. then i'll get the block cleaned and put in some new thrust washers and sell it off.
anyway here is what i found.

lastly. i got the lower pans back on. after i pressure washed them then doused them in break cleaner. i flipped over the engine and reinstalled everything.
i installed the turbo manifold and rear turbo housing and left it there for the day. tomorrow or later next week i should be able to get back to it.
im trying to get FIC1100 injectors. or maybe go with the Bosch 1150cc top feeds.

Sorry to see another issue with Crank Walk. It is getting more and more familiar with these ACT clutches. I get nervous every time I crank mine now, due to me reading more on them on here.

no bull****. it happened to my motor. pics are proof.
its not like it happened right away. took 2400 miles on the dot.
just dont get a pressure plate this strong. now i gotta try to sell it.
