94 SC300 1JZ Build Thread

I'm at a crossroad right now. I'm deciding if I should go with an Emanage Ultimate that I can get for around $300, and get a new harness or go for an AEM ems and sell my Aristo ecu. My goals are for 500WHP eventually. I read that I have to buy a patch harness and some sensors for the Emanage so it almost makes sense to go with the AEM price wise. Someone is selling a v1 for about a grand here too. Let me know your thoughts.

If you go aem. I'd get a Honda aem v2 like what driftmotion sells. Its newer. You still have to get a map sensor and wideband sensor for tuning if 500hp is your goals.
But you'll need someone who knows what they are doing to setup. The driftmotion aem I'm sure is modified in someway internally.

I'm thinking about grabbing an Aristo harness since the plugs should be the same and would work with the ECU. I haven't read if you have to extend this bad boy or not though. This should work with my 440C injectors too right (sequential)? Any other special wiring needed?

I was cleaning up some parts and while I was cleaning the turbo, I noticed that the turbo has a bit of shaft play but not a crazy amount. What concerns me is that I can hear what appears to be slight grinding. This isn't good so I'm contemplating a rebuild. How much do these usually run? Any shop suggestions?

Finally stripped the interior and began working on pulling the stock engine and transmission. I thought about selling this car to buy a more complete one but it fell through. My friends helped me out a lot with this part and helped motivate me a bit. There are some pictures of my engine after we cleaned it up. Next objective is to remove the stock engine and transmission, buy my cams, rebuild turbo, and arp studs for the flywheel and head.

The injector size does not determine whether they are batch, or sequential. It's the wiring. 1JZs are batch fire and 2JZ are sequential.
