looks awesome, and great tip on the water neck, never heard of flipping it before and thats amazing how perfect it fits.
I didn't have as much of a clearance issue just barely touching so I just shortened the stock water hose an inch or so and put it back on so the bend was closer to the alternator, but this is a better fix alot of people will probably make good use of! Might have to go back in and do it myself, thanks for the info.

Ya I noticed this on my other motor when i was messing with that side and normally you "have to" buy the adapter plate for it to point down but you don't have to at all. I think that nub is there from factory is so you don't put it on "backwards" lol but in the case its works perfectly after taken the 2 seconds to grind it down.

Been busy with the build! Sense I'm do the TT HG and R154 swap at the same time, we decided it would much easier to pull the motor out to do all of this. While it was out, we did a few maintenance things to the motor as well. the R154 swap is from my previous project that got dumped
Water pump is already new has about 5k miles on it if that.
New 160amp alternator
New TT motor mounts
New front/rear main seals
New pilot bearing
New r154 Flywheel with ARP bolts
Act stage 5 I believe clutch installed
New clutch slave/fork
also put in the TRD diff I had which i think there might be something wrong with it?!?!
and the rest of the crap that goes with the R154
I also had to move the shifter back a few inches so I didn't have to cut up the car. The lever was cut on the trans and extended about an inch or so. Currently working on the shifter housing as well. I'm basically matching the length of the w58 that was pulled out with the motor, which is roughly 27". This weekend the Head is coming off for the TT hg and studs. Than I'm going to start on the harness clean up!

so just found this thread about the r154 shifter! I could of left the shifter housing along without having to extend it. I was thinking I had to extend the housing because my 95 had the tripod type w58 so that's why I thought it needed to be extend. Anyway going to pull that one off and put the stock shift lever back on than use my short shifter that I modified already.

those are the the factory shifter throws tho. With the beach performance short shifter the throws are 50% less it feels like which is very nice.
Here a pic from my 95 and what I did with the short shifter.

and here
this also puts it right in the middle of the shift bezel and i can adjust the height up/down of the shift and center it from the bottom.

The best part is the feel of the shifter. Its is drastically a shorter throw than with little effort to switch gears unlike the factory shifter. That's what makes this shifter great because it doesn't throw it off any bit with the extension in place. I love it compared to the row boat shifting on the factory shifter on either w58 or r154. Ill take some pics and post them up
