Cool Project 1JZ VVTI + Full 97+ Conversion

Hey Guys!!

I am now the proud owner of a 1993 SC300 (My 1st Lexus) and I just so happened to get it with a FULL 97+ Aero upgrade including Kouki Tails (Not installed yet but here) along with a 1JZ VVTI Single turbo setup!! Looks like it is time to get my hands dirty and start building this thing so I can have a decent car like some of the cars I have seen on here. From the looks of it I will be needing a few things from the research I have done and I would love input from anyone that has any. I got this ENTIRE setup above for close to NOTHING from my friend I have known since forever so I didn't expect to be jumping into the unknown this deep since I am coming from being a 240 Owner but.... Let's just say I am a little excited!!

My Needs before install:

Motor Mounts from Supra TT
Wiring harness from whatever VVTI Toyota??
Wiring Job
Power FC / Haltech? Idea's?
Ignitor
Intercooler
Downpipe (Custom I would assume)
Exhaust
Tach adapter
Intake
Toyota Camery Throttle Cable

Then I am up and running with AUTO Trans

THEN I can spend 3K getting the tranny together THE RIGHT WAY!!!!

I'll post pics tomorrow so you guys can see how I am starting this off!

Good luck on build. That should be a pretty fast car.

Thank you! I literally have NO IDEA what to expect at all.. I have heard many 1JZ's run and rode in a non VVTI one in a 240sx but never in a lexus. I am sad the Tranny setup is so expensive I would like to do the 5SP swap right away but everything I see points towards another 3K.

You'll also need a manual 1JZ VVT-i ECU if you want to swap to a manual. I'd do ALL the basic maintenance to that 1JZ if it's still fresh from Japan or hasn't been touched. If your car is a factory automatic you may want to also pick up a 4.083:1 rear diff pumpkin (for manual conversion) or a 3.92 pumpkin from an SC400 since that is the correct factory final drive for 1JZ Soarer automatics. Your 4.272:1 may be a bit too much gearing with the auto trans setup.

Kahn thanks for the info! Timing belt and waterpump are fresh.

GreenS14 - I didn't want to start a frenzy and brag on our other forum lol I got the jump on the deal and knew he had all the stuff already and seen all of it so I just brought him cash RIGHT AWAY no questions asked. Send me a PM with your number i'd be honored to get a helping hand.
