First post/ R154 Swap
Hey everyone!
I just bought a sc300, trashed interior but running and for damn near free so i couldn't say no!
Drove it home and immediately started looking up info on the swap.
I'm currently on the dissasembly phase of it.
Things I bought already include:
R154 Transmission with a 1J/2J bellhousing
Front half shaft
w58 shifter
r154 slave cylinder
I'm currently planning on doing a full tune up on the engine as I'm taking it out with the tranny. We're talking about seals, gaskets, timing belt, water pump, etc.
I'll post some pics up in a bit let me know what you think and if you have some tips for me it'd be greatly appreciated.

Found some rust under the battery tray, and relised the engine was leaking oil pretty badly.
Gonna need the rear main seal and a couples more gaskets.
Also had to figure out the hard way that the engine harness comes out with the engine.
Old hardened plug clips were the victims. Now I'm going to need to splice in a couple sensors.
on a brighter note went to the junkyard today and found a decent center compartment and stock radio for cheap! Along with some hoses and the accordion airbox tube.

In the words of a fellow CL member I like free things so I was planning on modifying the shifter. I'm more worried about having to cut the transmission tunnel though.
Actually I'm planing a TT drivetrain swap later on. For now I just want the piece of mind of a maintained engine since I plan on taking this car to the track pretty often.

Love to see some progress of any SC nowadays. Car has seen better days, but I am sure you already have found some interior parts to go in, your just not telling us yet.. LOL
