Realized I put the throttle body lines on backwards, but they seemed easier to put on this way. Not sure it makes a difference. I figure I'll order the pre-made throttle body lines from japan (vvt-i 2jzgte only) and have them ready to go for when i pull the motor in the spring.

Got the new lower radiator and upper radiator hoses on. Couldn't use two of my upper clamps because my hard pipe is larger diameter than the oem radiator and upper outlet, changed out the throttle body with the coolant hoses reconnected cause winter is coming. Also got a new serpentine belt on.

Still need to change out spark plugs, going to adjust my throttle cable to see if thats how I set my warm idle. Still having low idle issues but my cable has slack in it. Also need to do an oil change, transmission mount and the transmission inspection covers. Lastly debating whether I want to change brake lines and re-bleed the system.. Probably should, just don't want something to go wrong.

Realized after using supra radiators for all these years i've been using the wrong lower radiator hose. While the gs300 fits, it has a larger lower radiator outlet (same size as the thermostat outlet); whereas the supra has a smaller lower radiator outlet with the same sized thermostat outlet as the gs300 (2jz in general)..

Didn't quite understand why the toyota parts guy gave me two different lower radiator clamps, so I went back after looking at the gs300 parts diagrams and ordered another lower radiator clamp in the larger size. Which just so happens to leak when on the supra radiator. Installing the smaller clamp seemed to work okay, but I double clamped it like I've been doing all these years in the mean time because I just filled the radiator with new toyota red coolant and distilled water.

So if you're using a supra JZA80 radiator in your gs300.. you need to use the supra lower radiator hose with the two different sized clamps. I will be changing this out when I yank the motor for the clutch in the spring time. Also ordering oem throttle body coolant hoses from japan so I can do it correctly when I pull the motor.

As far as work done today.. My nephew came over to learn some jdm coolness, and of course his free labor in return means my free labor for him.. As an introduction car guy this could be invaluable for him.

- Oil is changed and filled up with a toyota filter and mobil 1 0w-40 fully synthetic
- second radiator clamp added to lower hose until I replace it with a supra hose
- Transmission mount changed. Couldn't believe how squished the old one was. I am excited to see how this feels, it definitely lifted my setup a good 1/2"
- Transmission inspection plates added. Happy that my clutch isn't just open to the elements now.
- All the rubber brake lines from the fender well to the caliper were changed with SS braided lines, with new bleeders. I will bleed the system tomorrow and update on results.

Brakes are bled and feel great. Way more touchy and responsive than they were at the initial touch. Makes me really want to have my strut brace modified so I can add a brake master brace to make them even more responsive. These pictures are before I sprayed everything down with brake cleaner, and before I bled the brakes.

Rears seem a little tight, but this was at max droop . Sitting on its weight its better.

This coolant sensor is expensive AF. new from toyota its like 80 bucks, and with my discount I got it for 53.. still stupid expensive. Oh and it doesn't fix my issue with the low idle.

Old sensor out, new one with the part number shown.

Gauge cluster 1 wire sensor is ontop, ECU temp sensor is a 2 wire below it.

Oh and the brakes feel great, but I definitely want to make a brace coming off my strut tower to stabilize my brake master.

Oh and I was sick of my low idle, so i took my throttle cable off and slowly tapped the throttle cable bracket backwards so I could tighten the cable a little bit when it was warm. Now I have a perfect 750 warm idle. Fixed =/

Runs pretty good, I daily drive it for work 60 miles a day for the past five months. Stock clutch isn't too happy especially with it being beaten on during break-in from an alignment tech, but as long as I wait until the clutch gets pretty warm from the engine/trans it does okay. Heater core is also kind-of blocked, not really getting any hot air; did a chemical flush and it got way better during the process but once I put regular coolant in again it got luke-warm.. Need to do it again or flush my heater core backwards to get the crap out of it.

Thanks for the kind comment, definitely a beater but I did get the car for $700 and dumped many years and effort to become what it is today. Can't wait to swap everything to a low mile shell though!

Found out that some toyota dealerships were having a sale on TT front calipers so I checked online, prices have dropped a ton! in 2004 they were 220 each, in 2009 they were 265 each, 2016 they were 425 each!!! Right now they are 180-185 each! So I ordered a set cause that is ridiculous.

I will also need these other parts which add up to about 270 bucks.

04465-14390 pad kit, front list 52.99 cost 39.74 [ 4 pads ]
04945-14121 shim kit, front list 100.23 cost 69 [ 4 black & 4 silver ]
04947-14010 fitting kit front list 22.91 cost 17.21 [ 2 anti rattle springs , 4 pad spacers ]
90240-06019 pad pin front list 1.72 cost 1.29 ea x 4
90468-12021 clip pad pin list 1.41 cost 1.06 ea x 2
front rotor rh-#43512-14200 - $68.50
front rotor lh-#43516-14030 - $68.50

So I did a thing today... Saw a tax season deal on something i've wanted for years.. Decided to jump on a twin 44mm gate twinscroll 2jzgte t4 manifold. Probably wont be on the car for a year but it will be motivation!!

Front brakes have come in and they look fantastic. Ended up being $700 after taxes for all the parts I mentioned above. I don't think I am going to install them on this car though because without ABS my fronts already lock up before the rears, so I would rather pick up an sc300 with ABS and install them then.Going to be the same for the new clutch and turbo manifold too.. Essentially acquiring parts for when I pick up an SC300/400 and swap everything over to the new platform. Always had my first love for the two door cars, my first was a 1988 turbo supra and the transition to an SC was a dream of mine since a teenager.

Currently working on putting a new rebuilt turbo on my fuel injected yamaha raptor 700 atv and going to put it up for sale to help cash flow my new purchase, although it seems rare to find a nice example for under 9k nowadays.

So i finally got my manifold after waiting 3 months and being lied to countless times.. And he didn't even clean up the wastegate ports after he hole sawed them. Just welded right over with stragglers hanging off inside, kinda upsetting but glad I got it at least. I also got in another Precision PW46 wastegate for when it gets swapped but currently it's the daily driver so parts are just gathering until I get another DD and I can continue the big project.

All great things must come to an end... and my 1st gen JZS147 GS300 has had a long life with over 250k miles on the body, No A/C, plugged heater core, no ABS, No radio (wiring harness is messed up somewhere) among other things..

Welcoming my new baby: 1995 special edition baltic blue metallic SC300. Once I buy a new DD all my goodies will be swapped to this car. Until then I can't help but try to keep this forum section alive!

After the new year I will start stripping the car and some things will be for sale, body panels/large parts will be local only, but some things I can think of include my clutch pedal assembly and braided ABS delete/front brake lines, SPC upper control arms & PBM coilovers/strut bar. Once the main car is gone I will sell off the window regulators and lock assemblies. Going to keep the motor/radiator/trans/rear end/wheels.
