Default My 94 LS400......work in progress

I come from mainly Nissan background. Having messed around with several 240sx's and a 350Z (which I miss like crazy). I now have a baby boy so I needed something big with style.
So i picked up this LS from a wrecker auction for 1,100 and drove it right off the lot. The odo reads 180k so not that bad. Runs great and smooth. Only issue it has is the faulty cluster.

Had small plans for it but that really never work out in this hobby. Was just gonna keep stock body add wheels and a drop. That wasnt the case. I am always thinking of things to stand apart from the crowd. Small touches here and there. Went to a local aero parts place to pick up item for the LS. When I got there the manager told me he had a 8pc kit for a UCF10. I couldnt believe it. He had it for 5yrs and never advertised it. The price was a definite steal.

this is the kit

So I said F'it. Bought the kit and extra piece I was gonna mess with. Set me back on the Coils but not in a rush anyways. So my ideas were turned upside down. Decided to paint the whole car black +kit+extra piece and wheels in which I already had purchased but ended up not working. Since they were small and for stock body.

Took the car over to my friend/bodyman/painter. To save a couple bucks I would mount the kit and do all the ***** work plus buy all the materials. I had a hook up at a local paint store from previously working there.

Kit was from Extreme Dimensions. I would give it a 8.5/10 on fitment.
All four corners were rolled and pulled for future plans.

My extra piece was a Rocket Bunny wing. Since previously looking to buy one for my 240 I had been checking it out. Almost same trunk styles as the LS I figured it would fit pretty well. Then I decided to mold it on to the trunk. Came out better then I expected. One and only piece.

next was paint.
Ran into a little problem with the clear. I kinda cheaped out. Well dye back occurred and it had be recleared. So the car has about 5 coats of clear. So I bought a high solids 2:1 clear. Came out great.

Had to sand and wash the boat all down again for the reclear.

the car currently sits like this

my front bumper was damaged by some *******. Lower left part. Repaired it.
all ready have 4 new tires to mount for slight stretch and lower sidewalls. Just need coils, chrome trimmings and a couple other things.

ALMOST THERE.

Thanks for looking guys!

interesting, lets see how it looks when you get some proper wheels on it.

And you're lucky if your ED kit was an 8.5/10 in fitment, most i've seen start out at around 5.5-6...

Thanks bros. Yea can't wait for the coils i think it will all fall in place. The wheels are a big one too...the current setup isn't that bad. Just need to put on the correct tires on.
Was very surprised with the ED kit. Some pieces were just place and fasten.

Took some Pics of the rear today

Oh yea and blast pipes can't wait!

my face right now...
Not going to lie im very "bitter" about this and hurt. This was the kit Mata from jp.co usa told me about that ED duplicated and is selling. Im pissed because i spent 1500 vs this kit which is like 700 maybe less.. and im just pissed...I understand why companys get mad when they see their work getting duplicated and not shown any love whatsoever and fall off due to such company's. I dont feel my work is appreciated anymore and respected. Why customers like me get upset seeing their work feel like **** because of kits like this being easily made.. Which is why they discontinued it. just hurtin....mad hurtin.....

I see where your coming from Bobafreak. It can go either way in this business. Tons of companys buy/sell replica kits and slaps their logos and inflated price on it. I have also seen legit vendors buy rep kits and sell them. Im not a fanboy of legit or rep parts. I have owned both. This kit was available at the moment so i went for it. The price difference also sucks. 1500 is alot of money when the vehicle itself wasnt that much.

got some 225/40-235/40s for the wheels.

right now just mainly looking for small custom things i can do to the car.

Thanks for the update.
At that ride height, I'd not get out of our driveway.
