the front bar was swapped with a damaged bar that i had for spares
i cut out the holes on the foglight for extra cooling capacity where the oil cooler and the transmission cooler will sit on each side
oh and i sold the black bar complete with grill and foglights for good money to fund the car (rear bar as well)

That's a pretty bold statement when there are cars like this out there. No disrespect to the effort, I'd love to be able to do this too, but there are a few 2IS full bore racing machines out there already. It would be truly awesome to see them competitive in more than a single event like Pike's Peak. Very much looking forward to seeing this one complete and on track.

Have you seen these cars? http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...ealership.html

^^ Those IS350 Race cars were built well before the IS-F was even released...

They are the OLD defunct Team Lexus racers circa 2005-2006

They have been mislabeled as IS-F's ever since they shoved a TRD V8 in them... Lmfao..!!!

While I know they're not originally an F, this is corrected for truth. I remember the testing Team Lexus did on those chassis after installing the cages in the shells, and they really dramatically stiffened the chassis.

IS-F, IS-F
That team was actually based in CO and liquidated their effort several years ago. It looked like they had re-enigineered everything. The Pikes peak is impressive from a weight standpoint. But it retained many stock components...all the way down to the #2 bushings.

BTW, I ended up with a front bumper and rear trunk from one of those cars I am pretty sure. Prepreg and light. Purchased off craigslist and made its way to a friends body shop.

hey lubo i do understand what you have said
but my goal for this race car is
a street based open class Time attack car
there will be no stupid body work and ridiculous set ups
im just going to upgrade and use the best parts instead of OEM and run the limits of the car
and also with the help of aero
i do believe this is the first ISF in the world that has been taken out of road service and turned into a dedicated race car
especially done by a private one man team (myself lol) not a workshop or corporate

This is incredible to see. Gentlemen like you drastically increase our likelihood of aftermarket parts development. Without a cult following, we won't ever see support. Projects like this bring some spotlight to the F
